TRAIL ARM MOVEMENT BACKSWING

Спорт

In this video I will be explaining the movement of the trail arm and what you will need to be feeling in order to set yourself up correctly at the top of the backswing. A lot of people are uncertain about this movement so this will hopefully clear things up for a lot of you.

Finally! You’re the first person that has explained what to do immediately after you move the arms back. It’s easy to rotate your body without the arms doing much, but no one explains what to do next, i.e., how to get the arms up or how to cock the wrists. Thank you.

The amount of instructors I've asked what happens between the takeaway and backswing and no one really has the answer! Thank you for the missing piece of the puzzle!!

This is quite possibly the best backswing mechanics video I have seen. Been struggling for a long time with my backswing, this has helped me incredibly 👍🏽

Thanks for the lesson, I struggle with this move and I have a tendency to rotate/bend my trail arm to early. I have seen many instructional videos that direct the trail arm be lower in the take away vice what you have directed as level to above lead arm. Your method feels more natural and it keeps the swing on plane. Thanks again.

The comment at 6:20 is crucial. For someone (like myself) who has the lawnmower move and gets stuck, it “feels” as though the arms do absolutely nothing almost apart from the movement described. Great video mate - greetings from Sydney

Great explanation! I especially like "like you're losing an arm wrestling". I've been rotating my body not enough so correcting these few days, only up to the hip point (before the right wrist twisting). But now I can't hit down. Before this after watching your video on how to hit down, I could make downward angle consistently, but now with this correction of my turn during up swing, I lost the ability to hit down! Now looking for your video on hitting form drills and trying again from scratch😂

Fantastic! You're a very good teacher! I picked this up from one of your earlier backswing videos and it's helped me so much, as I tended to roll my wrists before. I really appreciate the detailed explanation. I've worked this into my backswing resulting in dropped strokes and now I'm playing low to mid-80's regularly. Good stuff brutha!

This was great. Maybe the next lesson relates to the transition from top of back swing. I seem to lose the position and my backswing goes flat and I come too much from the inside. I would love to get a video lesson (II can send you front view and down the line view) and tell me some drills to improve my swing position.

Sir.. would you please consider a lesson on not hitting at the ball? I think most players do this making the ball their target. I struggle big time with this issue. You explain things so well please consider. Love ur teaching methods!

After you have gotten to the position where your wrist is set, in order to complete the backswing, do u “lift” the club with your trail or lead arm? Thanks!

  • @robertshawnmitchell

Maybe just add that the purpose of the trail forearm rotation is to set the club on plane, but great stuff!
