In Scandinavia and other parts of the world with cold climate, people didn’t build large and tall structures because 1) the most abundant and therefore primary building material tends to be wood, which doesn’t preserve well and can’t hold as much weight, 2) structures would get snowed on and the weight of the snow would cause them to sink into the ground over time, 3) building low to the ground helped conserve heat. People do things in certain ways for reasons that make sense to them based on what they have to work with, not because they aren’t as smart or as talented or as capable as other people who do things differently. For the meme about the man portable anti tank system Texas Instruments made a rocket system which actually was surface to air and called the FGM-148 Javelin, or Advanced Anti-Tank Weapon System-Medium which is the best anti tank missile currently and is heat seeking. (Also General Electric the same guys who made washing machine also made the mini-gun and the anti personal cannon on the A-10 which is what the mini-gun is mini of, so they can clean up not just clothes .) I know a lot about weapons.

For Scandinavia, to be fair there were better constructions than that, even if it remained mostly wood and not really their forte. Edit: 9:21 the people that make those memes are sometimes quite ignorant. The Egyptian pyramids and Stonehenge indeed dates back from the same period overall, but the Mayans are from another time period entirely, they won't build anything until like 3000 years later. Why comparing them ?

That looks like a photo of El Castillo, a Mayan pyramid in Chichen Itza, built between the 8th and 12th centuries CE. So it could conceivably come after that Scandinavian case.

Yeah I wanted to to comment the same. The Aztecs were a pretty recent civilisation at the time the Spanish arrived. You beat me to it though.

1.) Ancient statues were in fact painted, but over the centuries the colours were washed away by rain, however pigments of it remain on the stone til this very day and can be found by scientists, leading to discoveris like the existence of black roman emperors. 2.) I recently read an alleged polish joke wich goes like this: A polish man finds a bottle at the beach, rubs it and a Genie appears. So the man has 3 wishes of course and he wishes for the mongols to invade poland. The Genie asks if he is sure, which he affirmes, so the mongols ride into Poland, sacking, murdering, burning and raping, before they return to Mongolia. For his secound wish, the man repeats his first one and once again, the mongols invade, destoying and masscring everything and everyone. For his third wish he asks for a bottle of wodka, some money and a bread, before releasing the Genie into freedom. The Genie asks why on eath he wished for the mongols to destroy his country - not once, but even twice - to which the polish explains: "Ah you see my dear Genie, the mongols invaded Poland twice, but to come here and travel back to Mongolia, they had to pass four times through Russia."

We find many ancient stuff in Greece too, but I think it being used as an excuse here. I Thessalonki, the second biggest city of the country, the metro planning started in the 1980s, construction of the main line began in 2006 and up to this day we have no metro!!!
