Tragic Details About Stevie Nicks

Ойын-сауық

The rock star lifestyle is full of all kinds of ups-and-downs, and Stevie Nicks has experienced them just as much as anyone. Nicks recorded some of the most iconic rock music of the ‘70s and ’80, with Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist, but she also had well-documented struggles with difficult relationships and drug use over the years. When she and Lindsey Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac, they were a couple, as were members Christine and John McVie, but both relationships at the center of the band quickly crumbled. Let’s take a look at some tragic details about Stevie Nicks.

Same here, i.e. Rumors/BD being two huge faves. After the Glitter Fades is such a hauntingly raw, authentic melancholic look at the dark, ugly not so glamorous side of touring, performing and just rock n roll legendary status from her own, as always, poetic and completely authentic & unique perspective. Definitely in my top 3 Nicks-penned tunes. Your daughter sounds very mush like both of my two girls, one 17 & the oldest almost 20. From a young age, they both were exposed and encouraged to listen to REAL musical artists and true talent that's largely absent on current station playlists. Video did, in fact, kill the radio star and most "artists", or acts really are created in boardrooms and their sound is generated by technology and ghostwriting staffers. Things have really changed and our kids and grandkids are the ones who are missing out. Thank goodness for unique, creative free-thinking youngsters such as ours that keep legendary musical genius alive and thriving right?! God Bless hun.

I’ve LOVED Stevie Nicks since I was about 12yrs old, my sister too. It’s all we wanted to listen to a lot of the time. I’ve always wanted to see Fleetwood Mac live but never could. I was thrilled to bits when my husband got me tickets to Stevie Nicks, in Perth, Western Australia and they were pretty much back row seats but I didn’t care. I was in a psychiatric clinic at the time and I had to get special permission to go, after they’d done a tonne of tests. Stevie has a small stature and was of course, solo, so only Stevie was lit up on the stage. It was difficult to see her from so far back. I was expecting Stevie to wear one of those gorgeous dresses she’s worn on stage over the years and to move about on the stage, maybe even with a Tamborine for a couple of songs. I was very disappointed the moment she walked on the stage because she was seriously under-dressed, wearing very plain clothes that blended in with the background, making it even more difficult to see her. She didn’t move around at all, not even moving to the music a bit, not even once, she just stayed at the mic and her voice sounded terrible, like really terrible, she must have had a cold or something. It was by far, the worst live performance I’ve ever seen in my life and that includes ‘backyard bands’. I didn’t listen to any of her solo work for more than 10yrs after that concert. Oh, I do love her again now. It saddens me that neither Stevie Nicks, nor Fleetwood Mac will ever return to Perth for a concert again and even more so, that the only one I did get to see was as disappointing as your true love kissing you and then turn into a frog!

I was in love with Stevie Nicks' music, voice, and mystique when I was teenager in the early 80's. I went on to become a musician and producer and still am today, and my opinion is that not only Rumors is one of the greatest records of all time (as many will agree) but her debut record Bella Donna is also an all time great record which is not the norm for artists who do solo records away from the group they became famous in. From some of the comments on here, I think there is a misunderstanding of the tragedy aspect of Stevie's life in the title...as if she is supposed to be dead for it to be tragic. Many people don't understand the lives of musicians, even if they've watched or read biopics on them. The highs and lows are truly insane. Artists so many times are chased by their own demons and dysfunction...and because they have the will and purpose to create and express, it takes a certain vulnerability coupled with reckless, potent energy to achieve that within themselves and to the outside world. Stevie came up in a time when men could be extremely abusive to their significant other, and it was accepted in society...as demonstrated by her relationship with Buckingham, creating a toxic psychic bond of love, art, and ambition together. That kind of dynamic occurs more than people realize in the music world at all levels. I promise you that weighed her down for years, hence the affair with Fleetwood and her increasing drug abuse...she was probably still in love with Buckingham (just a guess) but knew she couldn't be with him. As far as her having 4 abortions, that is a hardcore decision she was making to never have kids to commit herself to her art...and I'm sure for a women in her later years, she probably regrets that decision anytime she thinks about it. In fact as a man I know it's different, but I'm now 50 and never had kids myself because my soul was always more into what I was doing in my career spiritually as well as professionally, and am also starting to regret it at times. Stevie also could have literally died from the self-destructive behavior she was engaged in for years from drugs and alcohol, which again is a common phenomenon in the music world. Cocaine especially either killed or ruined a lot musicians from that era when it hit the scene in the 70's and early 80's. Nobody realized how dangerous it was or just didn't care enough to stop because its use was so pervasive at that time. I personally worked on a couple of projects with Rumors co-producer Richard Dashut back in 2006 and 2010 and he told me how insane it was back then...everyone was doing cocaine like crazy, and he was just a friend of the band's that started running live sound at their shows and previously hung out with Nicks and Buckingham before they were famous. All of the sudden he found himself responsible for the production of Rumors with Ken Caillat and Buckingham. He stayed up for days at a time trying to figure out problems in the studio, everyone in the band hated each other at that point, and the record company was all over them with deadlines and budget overruns. So my point being is the record that launched Fleetwood Mac and Stevie into the highest tier of music history was utter chaos and brilliance fueled by drugs, toxic emotions, and every last bit of talent they possessed. Even though Stevie survived it and she is still alive and kicking, I think the rollercoaster she was on for many years in her personal and professional life was tragic in the sense of the suffering she endured to be who she was. I know that's the case with many famous musicians throughout history, but it's still visceral in observation nonetheless. Stevie you are truly one of the all-time greats and an inspiration, love you always and forever.

I've been a fan of hers since I was ten yrs old. You came short of nothing in your post/reply. We all may have regrets in our life, however, we must be respected for our decisions, at least they are true and real to our ❤️ and no one knows what we feel in the end or perhaps inbetween. Either way, Stevie's a force to be reckoned with. Blessings, be safe, remain healthy.

The only difference between her and other people with addictions is that she's famous and rich. (And one of the most recognized voices, man or woman, in the world) Drugs don't do favorites, they just stick around more where the money is:)) And another thing is those klonopin, xanax's little brother, hard as hell to beat. All benzos are in my experience. I'm glad she was able to beat all the odds👍👍👍
