TRAGEDY in Belgrade, 🇷🇸 Serbian CITIZENSHIP in 1 year and my son | BREAD Talks podcast #3

Yo guyz, it’s me Kseniya! Welcome to the new episode of my podcast BREAD Talks! As a reminder it’s a podcast about life in Serbia, my experience of adaptation, news about Serbia and etc.
In this episode we’re gonna briefly discuss the tragedy that happened in Belgrade school and awful TikToks that I came across and finally why it’s important to talk to your kid. Also I’m gonna share my sadness about failed expectations of getting Serbian citizenship in just 1 year 😁. And at the end I want to say a couple of words about my son and his quite complicated journey in kindergarten and how is he managing so far. Cuz I know it is a tough time for kids and parents when a kid is trying to fit into the new environment and get along with new people, especially if they talking different language.
So let me know what you’re thinking about this one!

You are very right about the kids in the school shooter. I grew up in America and we didn't have school shootings back then but I still grew up in a violent school with a lot of harassment, sexual harassment and sometimes violence. Mostly in the younger days though before 16 years old. That was when all of the junk kids went to Vocational School. But there are feelings on both sides the ones that are the victims and the ones that also have been bullied before themselves and want revenge because nobody would do anything about bullying in America because of our constitution add freedom of speech. But what is happening in America is not normal bullying. I wish that this would not come into the rest of the world. I was very saddened when I heard that this happened in Serbia as I think it Serbs in general are very good people and care about their children.

Since you were talking about Daniels gaining more knowledge in learning Serbian language how this been going for you with the language, I know their both Slavic and they share the Cyrillic alphabet but they sound quite different none the less. I'm guessing your husband has more of a chance to practice Serbian because he's working outside the home so his exposure must be greater speaking with the everyday Serbian residents.

I don't understand why people (kids?) would support the actions of that shooter. Thankfully that kind of crime is rare in Serbia and I hope it stays that way. Glad to hear Daniel is socializing better at kindergarten. It must be so tough for the little guy when everyone else can understand each other but he can barely understand them. I guess he may be too young for play dates right now but down the road that's something that might help him cement friendships. Sorry to hear about the end of the one year path to citizenship, but you're still on track to get Serbian passports. Does Serbia recognize dual citizenship? Does Russia? Nice bread by the way...

I think they support it because someone had courage enough for doing revenge. Serbia does not recognise it, but there some people who has dual citizenship. Not sure about Russia, I think it recognize it

Kids pick up languages super fast. The way they do it is amazing. It's not the same as when an adult tries to learn a new language.

Im following situation with EU and Serbia for quite some time and some interesting stuff happen in the last year, as candidate state, since 2012 holder of Serbian passport can stay visa free in EU for 90 days, that also makes us a part of EU Frontex program (Its a common thing to see German/Austrian and Hungarian border police on our borders since 2015 migrant crisis), so in the last year they made us cancel our visa free regimes with India, Morocco and some other African countries because they abused it to travel here and stay in the EU. They already have around 6 million Ukrainian refugees and twice that number of middle east refugees, so i doubt they gonna gamble that 200k Russians that arrived here want to spread out across EU using our passport, they are not stupid...

I strongly doubt that Serbia will do something contrary to the will of the European Union, unless it suddenly reverses the course of its foreign policy, which would probably force the Russians to leave Serbia as well.

EU was not pleased by the fact that a lot of Russians are coming to Serbia. The other thing was the visa-free travel to Serbia, countries like Rwanda, Tunisia, Afghanistan etc. so that needed to change in order to stop the immigration to Europe, Hungary already had a lot of problems at its borders with Serbia. Poland is making a fence and Ukraine is creating the DMZ

@@SailorNom Serbian shouldn't be hard for Russians. It depends on your own will, but if one is overloaded with work and information, especially in front of pc, it could be problem.
