@@davidjackson2690 Yep. If you've ever tripped you know the deal. It's like your pupils dilate out of your eyeballs, eye sockets, then out of your face, then melt down your face into the heat waves of neon cartoon colored landscape waving to the sounds of Pink Floyd you're listening to and become one cycle of many cycles of an alternate reality that is part of another surreal alternate universe that pulsates in and out of this universe that is trapped inside your brain but moving in and out of the existential reality of thousands of mutlicolored waves of thoughts, both spoken and yet unspoken. Yeah, that about sums it up...

Mine too. 64 now, and never heard it til 10 years ago. I wrongly assumed that Steve Winwood was 80’s radio pop. It sent me into a music seeking spiral. What other masterpiece had I missed in my youth. It was good to know that I hadn’t missed many. Sadly tho, this was one of them. I listened to it everyday for a year and still do on a regular weekly basis. Sometimes more.

That was what I was gonna mention. The Floyd light show was an integral part of their concerts, going WAY back to their experimental music days at Cambridge?? college. They began playing to light shows, practically. So no, the lights and effects were not a gimmick thing, but rather a central core of the show. Even their sets were timed to go with the show. So thats why they didnt deviate with long guitar solos and 20 minute improv jams.

Funny story: my parents went to see the Rolling Stones at Boston Square Garden in 1972. They went with a friend who was a psychiatrist and they were all tripping on pharmaceutical grade LSD he had for his patients. Not long after arriving they got split up - my mom spotted the psychiatrist friend (he had bought the jacket and concessions tray from a vendor and was walking around selling food and drinks). My mom looked up into the stands and there is my dad waving at her - she said she just stood there transfixed staring at him when a Frisbee hit her square between the eyes. 😂 She enjoyed telling that story over the years. I hear they had a blast.
