Your "Quadrilha" came from Portugal where it was called the Quadrille and was famous throughout Europe between the 17th to the 19th Century. It actually first started in England but of course would become Influenced by other Countries as it travelled around and will have changed over the years.

😍 Universelle Grüße an alle 😘

I remember learning this in first grade. It was a lot of fun!
My favorite part is the men threatening each other with spoons

But... You know what the Englishman did to become American? And who worked for them to stay that "great'? If that isn't fucked up, I don't know what is.
Cor! I certainly never seen a square dance like this one before! Especially when the ladies start swishing and swirling their skirts so energetically!
Oh, that is wonderful and fantastic to look at and just lifts the mood! That such a thing still exists! A dance full of overflowing joie de vivre, cheerfulness und charm. That's how dancing has to be! In contrast, some disco is a sleeping compartment! ;-)
I love it! Greetings from Spain!
Here in Brazil, we call it "Quadrilha", very popular in some states.

Your "Quadrilha" came from Portugal where it was called the Quadrille and was famous throughout Europe between the 17th to the 19th Century. It actually first started in England but of course would become Influenced by other Countries as it travelled around and will have changed over the years.

I keep coming back to this video. It is just so well coordinated. I do feel bad for the few slip ups where girls almost get dropped though. Also, 200th comment.
I do regular folk square dancing but, nothing that fancy. And I want to do it so bad!😭😭 this is gorgeous and and looks like so much fun! It reminds me a lot of the dancing on Seven Brides for Seven Brothers!

Great dance and video! Enjoyed every second of it.

That was awesome. I have never seen anything quite like this before.
As a mexican i approve this is a nice song to dance
I used to be a morris dancer here in the UK when I was younger and it's really nice to be reminded of those times looking at this. I wonder if this evolved from morris dancing (which also has barn dances)

😍 Universelle Grüße an alle 😘
