Translation from my Aunt. The song titled ' Bamgwaza Loiwe is praising the heroine by the name of Loiwe who survived an attack from spear wielding opposing forces on her village. She and her fellow villagers were saved by her courageous acts. Historically the Ngoni tribe were a warring tribe who fought several wars all along the way from Zulu Land in present day South Africa until they eventually settled in their present land in the Eastern Province, having crossed into Zambia at the confluence of the Zambezi and Luangwa rivers in 1835. But from time to time they would come under attack from the people they had displaced. The story is told in Ngoni folklore, of the alert and courargeous Loiwe who one day as she was coming home from the field was attacked by spear wielding forces but somehow escaped and alerted the Chiefs Impiis (soldiers) who quickly advanced to repel the attackers. So the song is praising the courageous A Loiwe who survived the spear attack. It is a beautiful song, sung during the Ngoma traditional dance, even at the N'cwala ceremony while impiis thump their feet to the ground to the rhythm. In her presentation, Angela Nyirenda adopted this song to the guitar and drum. Part of song mentions an old man named Yelemiya (Jeremiah in English), Yelemiya was admonished for his bad practices in sorcery ( witchcraft ) etc which were not conducive to peaceful co- existence with others in the village and he was being urged to change his ways and live like Mr Manyoni, Sandinda and other elders in the same village.

That's the right reaction. Unfortunately it may not be possible, with Operation Dudula, they will get killed. Back then the Nguni/Ngoni fled from Shaka during iMfecane. Today imfecane iyaqubheka with operation Dudula.
