Price action describes the characteristics of a security’s price movements. This movement is quite often analyzed with respect to price changes in the recent past. In simple terms, price action is a trading technique that allows a trader to read the market and make subjective trading decisions based on the recent and actual price movements, rather than relying solely on technical indicators.
The only people who know where the market is heading are institutions. They are the ones who make the market move and our job as retail traders is to follow their footsteps and get the piece of their movement. As price action traders we need to find the most profitable ways to enter trades. The highest probability setups are 2nd entries, its variations and confirmations setups at the key entry points.

I went in on a deep limit order as well on the HL that was a trap. Makes me feel a lot better that I was reading it right since you took the same setup. It’s just one of those trades we keep on going. Thank you thomas

at 2:59 does it not matter that the long would be going into a resistance of the range? Or does the break new extreme rule usually overpower that?

you should never take a long there

You expect new extremes to be tested first. Then you focus on range rules so with good bar, it would be ok 2EL to take. Of course with no overshoot.

Looking to join the group, I have only traded NQ/MNQ for just over 4 years, still grinding however, your explanation of the 2 leg pull back entry gives me more confidence. I currently use top down only to set my supply/demand zones and any high importance support/resistance lines, otherwise I stay on the 3min/1min. Just looking to get a feel on the atmosphere. Thank you!

Thank you! Ive been watching your channel for a while and its awesome. For some reason i cant tell the difference between a 2nd entry with the trend and a failed 2nd entry against the trend. Ive tried so hard to understand and watched hour after hour of your videos but they still seems the same to me most of the time. I am missing something? Would be great a video about it. Thank you again.

Hi Thomas! Can you explain that last F2ES? It would be easy to mistake that for a 2ES and I probably would have. What's the key indicators that it would be a failure?

  • @ThomasWade

There are several clues to understand 2ES is going to fail. Number one, we are in a range. Most breakouts will fail and you expect bear breakout to fail and go back in the range. Number two, 2ES formed above EMA, not below, meaning failure is likely. Number three downtrend played out with new low so there is no reason for sellers to trade lower.

hey thomas, i took the 2ES at 7:20am on your chart because i have my range drawn smaller off of the first new high you labeled i thought it was a 2es fbo and now i see it was in an uptrend, would you consider this a "good Loss" aka a good trade context wise or a bad trade due to price action?

It's just my opinion as a random person you don't know, but by the time this setup forms, there is enough information to suspect an uptrend. When in doubt, don't guess - just wait for the market to tell you. So I think you are not wrong to have the resistance where you had it at that time, but I think it is wrong to ignore the visual uptrend, in which case we would not want to consider a short until there is break and new extreme or F2EL. I personally didn't trade today, so no judgment and much love.

@@benz7785Was it a loss ? Doesn't look like the next couple bars ticked higher than your signal bar for the 2ES
