One thing that stood out to me when I first heard this 11 years ago and still stands out now through the test of time: Despite reestablishing himself and honestly recreating his career at this point, taking risks in doing so, Curren$y was giving the dudes around him a chance to shine. This was pre release of Pilot Talk I. The commercial viability of the reinvented Curren$y wasn't there yet, and yet he was holding it down for his whole set. He had a vision. Not saying he's a mastermind, and all of these guys have/had tremendous talent on their own, but think about the list of rappers Curren$y either co-signed/helped break in/gave a platform to: Roddy, Trade, CornerboyP/Fendi P, T.Y., Wiz, Smoke DZA, Mikey Rocks, Le$. Even gave his OGs a chance to cash in on this digital bread (Fiend, Mr. Marcelo). Not too many in the game these days really want their whole team to eat with them.
