Gaslighting is an overused word these days, like “narcissist”…..it gets thrown around without people actually understanding what it means. If Tracy was gaslighting Steve here, she would be trying to get him to blame himself in order to manipulate him into forgiving her and moving on from it. Gaslighting is a psychological term where someone deliberately deceives someone into questioning their own state of mind. Here, she was being bluntly honest with him, and herself she said she was tired of her own life. She wasn’t blaming him, she was explaining that she wasn’t in love with him.

Yes, I’ve thought that for years too. He was never like that when his brother Andy was on the show and they were in their late teens. Strange why the writers have written for him to play the character like that. The same can be said for Gail. At times, she plays it so dumb it’s just as annoying. They’re like the Joey Tribbianis of Corrie.

Tracy likes excitement. She probably never thought she would actually get Steve. Once somebody gets what they have always wanted, they don’t have something to chase anymore. It’s part of all of our make-up. A lot of athletes become very depressed after winning the biggest prize in their sport. It’s all part of the same psychology

Wow, she doesn't even have the care to act guilty about cheating, or dumping him. Plus, it really is so demeaning to compare Steve to an article of clothing that she just wants to change. Her casual tone would make one think that they were having a conversation about something completely mundane.

This is a shock! As in the way the for over a year, I've stepped back to Classic Corrie. I stumble across this and seeing Steve now after 'fast-forwarding', I'm thinking first how much he has aged! Considering back then how much Tracy pinned and chased after Steve! Poor Steve.

Hope this is not a spoiler alert. Pretty soon I think. Crawshaw starts to gather evidence to get Mason expelled but he’s going to turn his attention on Dylan and frames him for possession of a zombie knife for which he gets hauled in by the Police but Mason has forgotten that Dylan has info on the hit and run that Mason was behind the wheel when Eliza got injured last year.

Tracy may have been the first character born into the street. Ken was her Godfather. Betty and Emily were her Godmothers. After Ray left in late 1978, Deirdre and Tracey lived with Emily until 1980. Deirdre was on/off with Ken from 1979. Tracy was adored by everyone in the street. Despite all the pampering, the writers and producers decided to turn her into a monster. This is beyond bad. I can’t believe people follow this garbage. Do yourselves a favour and turn it on from 1976. Half of 1970 and all of 1971 are on here. It’s fantastic.

I hope they do split up. They're a completely mismatched couple. Even though she's a pantomime actress with silly storylines, Tracy was once a bitchy, jealous, selfish, evil person who murdered one boyfriend and broke up two of Steve's marriages with her lying and interfering. She made his life a misery when he was with Karen and then Becky. I thought it was absurd that he took her back after leaving her on their first wedding day for lying about Becky causing her miscarriage. It's also ridiculous that she pined for Steve for years as her "true love". Why would a scheming character with Tracy, who pursued alpha types such as Dev (back in the days when he was a womaniser rather than a ridiculous eccentric) and Charlie Stubbs, want a gormless drip like Steve anyway? It's never made any sense to me. Even more ridiculous that after chasing him since 2003, she casually wants to dump him because she's bored. I've always thought Steve and Leanne would make an interesting couple, particularly after they had Oliver. Not because it'd be a passionate romance but because they've both been through a lot and would be content to settle for each other.

I think She's having a middle age crisis! She just turned 47 didn't she?
