Tractor Tire Water Tank Project. Repurposing Old Stuff.

In this video, we work on the tractor tire water tank project. We repurpose a old tractor tire and turn it into a self filling water tank / trough in our barn / working pens. The goal is to have two additional pens in the corral that both have running water and shade. So, we took a old tractor tire, cut one side out with a sawzall . From there we dug a trench and buried a 1" fill line with a shut-off valve. We leveled the site using a packing tool. Once we have it level, we added some pea gravel to get the final grade just right. We then set the tire in place and used 3 -80lb bags of sackrete to secure the tire and to make it water tight. The next step was setting up a divider and installing the little giant water valve . The final step was backfilling all of the low spots and then finishing the project off with a new gate to the corral. I really enjoy re-using stuff around the farm and giving it a new life.. hopefully this will last a really long time. Thanks for watching.

Thanks DJ, we operate on a shoe string budget around here. As my wife says, we are unfortunately a non profit organization 😳🙁. Maybe one day we will turn a profit. In the meantime, we make every penny count. Thanks for your continued support!

Looks like it turned out great! I started thinking you may need gravel around the tire but you might not since it's covered.

Yes, in a ideal world, I would put gravel around it. Maybe one day I can afford it. Haha
