Tractor Recovery | A Day In The Life (Winter Storm - Finale)
This is the last video of my Tractor Recovery trip. I'm almost home. The route that I took was not the route that I wanted to take. I was told to take this route by my boss even though I knew there was a winter storm heading through I-70 in Colorado. However, being an OTR trucker, these are things you prepare for. This is just another day in the life.

I'm a trucker as well so yes anyone can sit in my seat and drive the rig down the hwy too until they have to get off the hwy and deal with all the traffic and the lights make all the turns, tight or not, and find the customer w/o making a wrong turn or hitting someone or something no excuses, then backing the trailer to the dock regardless of how small the place is or how badly it is set up with cars parked everywhere. At that point it becomes a specialty that only the people who do it all day every day make it look good and excel at it. When I say anyone can get in the driver's seat and drive the rig down the hwy I'm referring to someone with a regular driver license with some experience in a car or truck on the hwy on a normal sunny day and no rain. Not I70 during winter with snow and ice. Under those conditions it's not hard at all just staying on the hwy. Getting off the hwy and everything else not a chance. I've been OTR for 8 years, been thru all the major cities and winter storms many times, ain't too big for me. I know the camera man is a licensed driver. Love your videos. Thank you for being aware and concerned for other drivers out there. People are dangerously disconnected from driving, so many cars and truck are driving themselves. Not Good. Someone needs to be in control of that vehicle. Also, you are right about stopping at the different sights and points of interest. Gives your body and mind a chance to rest and rejuvenate. Love the camera work and views. Keep up a good attitude, don't let the negatives out there get you down.

As a German, it still amazes me how much vast, open and uninhabited space you Americans have. Central Europe is just so densely populated that you rarely drive for 15 minutes before you pass or come close to the next town or city! Also obligatory: Excellent editing and very charismatic driver. You are also how I imagine the typical American to be (in the best way possible!): Warm and heartfelt friendliness and sincere, not acted excitement and passion! Greetings!

Such a beautiful smile! I totally agree about getting out and visually checking the fifth wheel locking jaws to make sure they are locked, also to make sure the trailer is even on the fifth wheel. I saw a guy many years ago hook up and just do a tug test. Just before he left the yard, the trailer came off the tractor. If he had got under and checked visually, that would never have happened. The landing gear was damaged and had to be replaced. Glad you are having fun in your travels!

I drove OTR for 10 years so glad not to be doing this for a living nowadays. Love you're enthusiasm i remember being this way when i started out, but like many say this job is really is bad for you're health. I loved seeing the countryside but once i had pretty much been to all the states I was done with the lifestyle of truck stops and being away from the house you worked for and paid for but rarely see.

But when I do eat at Denny’s I like to get their Grand Slam Breakfast. It’s always good. I saw your post on Instagram that said you don’t make many friends while truck driving. I don’t get it, you have over 62,000 friends that are subscribers! That’s crazy since you have only posted eight videos over four weeks. Your doing something right. Stay safe. I’m glad you made it home safely.
