I support farmers. It's either that or hunt, forage, and grow your own. They need a reasonable return on their efforts just like everyone else.

Good for the farmers. The meat and dairy industry is a disaster, these farmers are producing some of the very best in the world they should be getting top prices. Yes the carbon tax shouldn’t be paid by anyone. The next protest I’d have a few hundred head of cattle there too.

I personally think ye should park a few hundred Tractors ON O' Connell Bridge, not the Dail, that would be so much more effective, that Bridge is the Key to Dublin's traffic.

It jus took me 4hours to get home through the city a distance of just 26 kilometres. I hav no sympathy for the wealthy land owning farmer in his 80k tractor bringing the city to a stop. If your business is not viable it should be let fail. Beef from Argentina is just as nice and cheaper on the shelves and will be my choice from now on.

You show the flag off our country on your profile..yet You want to see our biggest industry fail and cause the whole country to fall into a recession 10 times worse than the last one....that will be the result if you turn your back on the hardworking Irish farmer city boy..

@@265justy The strategy of disruption to your fellow working class is not a smart one. The beef industry employs 13000 mostly in meat packing it's far from our largest industry, the meat factories having a monopoly on the prices is what your problem is, stopping the people of Dublin and neighbouring counties traveling home from after work will not fix your problem.

@@poneill81 Your outa touch ..there is more than just meat packing involved when it comes to jobs. Think ofg all the industrys than supply farmers the basics they need to keep the farm ticking over ..maybe you should put the Argentinian flag on your profile.

@@265justy I don't want your industry to fail, but today's protest will get farmers more apathy than empathy, maybe a beef opec would be a match for the meat factory cartel your up against. Only 50,000 tonnes of the 520,000 of beef is domestic use. Rather than disrupting the Dublin commute more live export should be the strategy, moving away from the cartel factory.
