Thank you Tom! Recetly discovered your content and it has been soooo useful for my revision. I'm still in my 3rd year so hopefully I can make best use of your techniques in the coming years. Would be useful if you could make a podcast for surgery topics too as it is very useful to keep concentration during revision.

Hi Carmaline. Thanks for leaving a comment. This is great to hear! I am working on the surgery podcast at the moment, it will start from July onwards (when the paediatrics podcasts are due to be complete). Looking forward to covering the surgery topics 😄

Thank you Tom. This is really helpful i saw your other videos, they are amazing, concise and direct to the point. And i visit zero to final website regularly. i wish i have discovered your work in my first year in medical school, it would be a game changer. It still make a huge different even at this point at medical school i have two more years to graduate. I see a big potential in your work and should grow soon. Thanks a lot.

@@TomWatchman Looks good mate, the light in the background gives a bit of depth. Also, don't forget to add tags to the vids - I always forget when I'm rushing to upload! Tubebuddy is great if you arent using it suggests loads of them. Oh and I always add the timestamps in the description if you do 0:00 - Introduction and then list them all below it autoadds in to your video so ppl can see it on the scroll bar. These vids deserve more views! Content is great, man. Keep up the hard work! :)

how do you use this when you are trying to cover all the topics in each section, for example, we need to cover surgery, cardiology and etc and perhaps they are 10 in total and they each have 10 topics to cover, how can i use this method to cover all the materials?

  • @TomWatchman

Hi. You can just create a bigger spreadsheet. Instead of cardiology, general surgery, respiratory etc, you could have cardiovascular disease, acute coronary syndrome, angina, arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation etc.

Is there a period before the first review where you study a topic for the first time? I am planning to use AMBOSS plus my university's lecture notes (to add university-specific information). My idea is to use a curriculum and study each topic using AMBOSS + university lectures : the first time I create SAQs, then the subsequent three times I follow your method - is this a sensible plan?

  • @TomWatchman

I want to ask shall I apply this rule in mrcp exam? Like what if I try to get every unit daily instead of of one unit at a time?

absolutely! the same strategies apply to any medical exam. spaced repetitions of the content is optimal - meaning spacing the times you go through to content out (e.g., review the same content after 48 hours ,then after 1 week then after 3 weeks and so on)

The first column is for the pre-study questions (the short answer questions). The second column is for the post-study questions (the MCQs).
