Tracing The Neptunes’ Impact: From Tyler, The Creator To JAY-Z | Genius News

Музыка

Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo are back, collaborating as The Neptunes on a more permanent basis and putting in studio time with the likes of Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Nas X. Genius News traced The Neptunes’ era-defining career from grade school band to the studio with artists like Clipse and JAY-Z as well as the formation of N.E.R.D and their impact on current artists like A$AP Rocky and superfan Tyler, The Creator.
The production duo’s latest releases include SZA’s “Hit Different” and Pharrell’s “Entrepreneur” with JAY-Z. In January, the production duo was selected to join the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s 2020 class. They also have two song credits on Megan Thee Stallion’s 'Suga' EP that dropped in March.

It's insane, like I never knew about neptunes and all the songs they've written and produced and the artists that they allowed to go big in the industry, my respect for pharrell has extremely sky rocketed after watching this man, once again i'm young, so i didn't grow up seeing who was producing what, but before this vid, 9/10 i would give metro boomin the label of GOAT in terms of producers, but wow, Neptunes are 10000/10 the greatest producers of all time

Correction for the video: The Neptunes actually started working with Justin Timberlake before he went solo. They produced “Girlfriend” for N’Sync. Also, they are one of the only producers to do almost every genre out. Check out “By Your Side” remix for Sade, “Don’t be Light” Remix for AIR, and “Sympathy for the Devil” Remix for The Rolling Stones. They’ve done a ton of music for international artists too like Australia’s Kylie Minogue and UK’s Ed Sheeran. Their remix of Garbage’s “Androgyny” is legendary too.
