Trace on Chief
Trace (11), riding Chief who has only been used as a bronc and untouched other than in a bucking chute for the last two years. Trace's older brother Bailey partnered with me in buying Chief for a bronc several years ago and then later on traded me his half of Chief for a grey mare and a gelding named Thunder. A year or so ago, Bailey traded his pony Thunder to Trace for a horse named Kate. During this ride Trace swapped Thunder back to me for Chief.

That brave young man. Gets all 👍👍 from me. I was impressed with the way he, mounted the horse. And the way he handled it, as well. He’s gonna make a fine young cowboy. Dad, you’ve done a great job raising your son.
Hell of a cowboy! 👍
That Chief has learned some bad habits before he got to you ! Good job ! He'll be sorted out in no time .
You are doing one hell of job with those boys. And your love for God is awesome. Please continue what your doing. I would absolutely love to come out there one day. God bless you ole son!!

Great job!!!! I had a horse kinda like this and I was soooo scared of him. My dad knew I was scared and he would get mad at me. This father and son team is so good to watch.
“Don’t fart around “
That beautiful loose rein and steady cowboy is everything.
That little boy was so right to really work on that horse. Even tho that horse will need so much time and patience, he’ll be a great working horse. X
The world's most awesome kid. Seriously.
My heart dropped when he stepped on. Lol my momma bear senses came out. Ha ha ha. Very cute video. Brave kid. Thank you for raising him right.
I like my horses to have a lot of energy instead of none
This horse was worked with better than the other one I commented about 100%
Wow he is good about not whipping the or kicking and be didn't yank the reins. Well done!👏🏼
My dad was good at make'n deals, and make'n cowboys, just like you.
This is how you own your own horses. Have you seen the movie Avatar?? I cant believe he made the trade with his pops, the nice looks good with him 👍🏽
Well done young cowboy...wachele,wachele,,
Needed more preparation and groundwork beforehand to keep the boy safer. I have a horse that used to react the same way to being mounted. Have to give it to the kid for having guts.

Beautiful horse. Do you have a video of your full ranch?
Seemed eager to please once he finally got mounted
Fearless son of gun ain't he but I think the trade might've been with a seasoned horse trader lol
Very impressive for an 11 yr old! Sometimes sour horses need some manners
A little ground work and get rid of the spurs for now any way thanks for the entertainment.
That horse needs lots of miles
Where do u get your horse
How big is your round pen
How tall is that pony?
That horse is not ready to ride!
Great job you should come work with my horse 😊😊

There is no video just audio screen is blank lol
Chief, and rider, would benefit from more ground work.

Horse wasn't far enough along in his ground training to be ridden. I guess these training methods used are still the old cowboy way of doing things.
@sonseere

Agreed. It is the old cowboy way. I don't do that to my horses. I take the time it takes with them to get them very confident and comfortable with the extensive ground work. No bits for me.

@@arizonasucculent8632 That's not a "work" horse. That horse isn't even started. It's interesting that you know that ground work/training does not apply to "working" horses and by that I guess you mean cow horses. It works a treat on all other horses for all other disciplines and uses and I've certainly seen ground work used for "cow horses." . I personally like a calm, confident horse that is dependable, smooth, and responsive. I suppose it depends on whether you want to fight them or ride them.

@@BlueRidgeMtns100 a working horse is and can be a cow horse. Don't get them confused with your easily spooked event horses. We don't know what work went into the horse before this point, we don't know if they did ground training and horse itself still doesn't wanna be ridden. For all we know this could be a straight mustang, and they're saddle shy regardless of ground work. So for people to sit on their fat asses and comment on "Ground work first" without even knowing the full story is laughable. You may prefer your horse to be calm, but they may prefer their horse to be confident and hard ridden. Watch the KZread channel called Broncs and Doncs, you'll see the difference between eventing horses and work horses.
@arizonasucculent8632

@@BlueRidgeMtns100 but don't forget that all horses are different. Your horse may be calm and easily trained, others would literally kill themselves before actually being put to work.
This looks trashy
Keep saying , " Easy " . Too lame . Be quiet . This is just terrible work . Ugh .
Poor horse.. Now a real trainer will have to fix stupid!
