Trace, emulsion, false trace, acceleration in cold process soap. Cold process soap making tutorial.
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This cold process soap making tutorial explains many of the aspects of trace. Including clearly showing how to spot emulsion (emulsification), what false trace is, how it happens and what to do about it, the different levels of trace and when they should be used and the main causes of acceleration in cold process soap.
I have tried to include as much information as I can without turning the video into some sort of epic 3-hour affair, but there will be a few things that I may not have included, for instance, I have given examples of what to use each type of trace for, not an exhaustive list of every soaping technique and the trace that works the best for them all.
I try to give lots of hints and tips in all of my videos, so hopefully, you can use some of the techniques in this cold process soap making tutorial in your own soap making. I hope you enjoy the video. I'd love it if you would give me a thumbs up, subscribe to my channel and ring the notification bell this helps me to grow my channel. If you have any comments or question please leave them in the comment section below and I will get back to you.

Disclaimer
Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

Hi Everyone. I hope everyone is safe and well. I hope you found this video useful, especially if you struggle with getting your soap batter to the correct consistency and keeping it fluid. I obviously haven't had time to cover absolutely everything in this one video, so if you have any questions feel free to ask them below and if I can help I will do. Happy soaping

Great video, thanks. My question is, does the mixer pull you down when you turn it on, because I get the impression it isn't? Mine has 300w and only one speed, but I can never cycle with it because it pulls me to the bottom as a vacuum. That's why I often reach the middle track too fast. 😒

I found this tutorial extremely helpful - thank you for sharing your expertise! I have had a lot of trouble getting consistent results. But today, after watching you’re video, my batter stayed fluid for well over an hour 😀. Do you have any tips for maintaining temperature for that long to avoid false trace? My batter seems to congeal below about 95 deg F (35 deg C). Thanks!

Hey, thank you so much Bee, ooh yes I really believe being able to spot emulsion is a massive help in soaping, stopping blending at that stage and just stirring or waiting makes so much difference to how long your batter stays fluid. :-)
This is the best tutorial on several subjects. I was able to get my questions answered by your perfect descriptions and demonstrations. Thank you!

Thank you so much, Lisa! This video is brilliant! I am a beginner and I have watched quite a few videos about emulsion and trace, but no one made me see the difference as well as you did. I love how systematic you are in explaining things and that you put a lot of effort into illustrating rather than just explaining what you can do with different stages of trace. Incredibly helpful!

Thanks so much Red Rooster. I think it's important to show what your trying to explain, so I'm really pleased you see the benefit :-)
Thanks a million for this. As a newbie I've missed emulsion by a mile lots of times and with practice have gotten more control over trace and my batters. There is always something to learn when soaping though and this video will be invaluable to those interested in starting soaping or even slightly more experienced soapers :)

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I do hope the video helps some people out. I really think the point where I completely understood emulsion and how to spot it made a massive difference to my soaping. Thank you :-)
Hi Lisa! I enjoyed the video. Thank you for being so methodical with your info. I have been soaping 7 years and though I know these things instinctively by experience it was nice to hear and see the presentation. Your video will save some “oops” soap as it is information that comes from much experience and understanding about soap❤️👍😃

Hi Lisa. I just want to thank you again for your videos and tutorials. You really changed my life.. of soaping woman... lol . For me, the most important one was about the trace, I can not count how often I shared it for all those who struggled like me before. Then, of course the one about cleaning...microfiber.. what else..lol. And the small masterbatch.... good god, I do it all the time now....and the titanium dioxide.. no more crumbles... With your help, no more stress, only fun, and self confiance. Thursday I made a polka dot soap, and yesterday, with the cut offs.. a rimmed soap... on the base of what you taught me. Wish I could show you pics of the results of your teaching. Really, really.. let me hug you.. no corona online.... Thank you....sooooo much... Ulli from France
