My significant other is in the Marine Corps and I'm in the Army. We've been together 3 years now (since before the military) and I've been witness to his niece and nephew's births over these past couple years. I'm currently staying with his family while home from leave. It's pretty amazing what he's had to endure through the Marine Corps. kingslegion1 I'm a Hollywood Marine so I didn't know the humidity if SC. But San Diego was hot as hell when I went in Jun-Sep 2011. But I was stationed at Camp Lejeune so I know that humidity but I can't imagine it in boot camp....

actually its the humidity and SAND FLEAS.. worse in summer heat.. I was there as a boot and later as a drill instucter..July is HELL.

Before Going, everyone said i should cut my hair but did i listen? nope. so when i got in the barber chair, the Instructor had another private sweep the hair around me, and the barber started cutting my 16 inches off. he then made me pick it up, put it in a baggy and said from now till Graduation, Dont let me see you with out it. i left it in my footlocker once, just once, for a hour PT for the Platoon, they didnt let me forget again. Man, Memories...Semper Fi to all My Fellow Marines.

I was at Parris Island in July. Not a fun time. Lol. The 4th was a party though.

Nothing like the bother and sister hood that the marines give still friends with lot of my time and it does feel good to talk about it with some friends that have been there
