Everyone has their preferences but I beg to differ. Forget the electronics behind the panel! If you are interested in getting clothes clean which is the purpose of a washing machine then the TC5 is what you want. I’ve used both and the TC5 wins hands down. It’s more “aggressive” yes, but it does not harm fabrics and gets clothes clean the first time.

What exactly is it aggressive on? I am leaning on TC5 but that aggressiveness is making me worried. Now I have a 5 year old that thinks mud puddles are awesome and a husband that the clothes need some mean cleaning

@@dhuratadobbins3001 “aggressive” meaning it has strong center agitator action. Unless you are washing really delicate items like lace curtains or vintage linens, have no fear at all. The TC5 is well worth your money and will get your family’s clothing clean.

Most people have a busy household with more than one person trying to do laundry. TC5 Classic has a 30 minute cycle time and TR7 has an hour + cycle time.

I have a TR7 and I extremely enjoyed figuring out how to wash best on this washer. It takes a minute but once you do, this machine will not fail you. The only flaw is that it cannot wash a king size comforter. However, I just take it to the local laudromat every once in a while and it takes 20 minutes to wash. No biggie. I always enjoy doing laundry with this machine.

I prefer the TC5 because it’s got way better agitation and it’s a tried and true design-I happen to have an older model-the AWN412.

I've had my TR7/DR7 set for almost a year now and absolutely love them. For tougher stains, it's a good idea to turn up the Soil Level up a notch or two. The gas dryer is great, especially the steam functions. I can forget about a load of clothes and, in 30 minutes, the steam has them wrinkle-free again. The anti-static function also works well. Overall, I couldn't be happier.

If Speed Queen had just put the TR 7 / TR 5 controls on the TC5 like the awn 82/92 series was, They would not have been able to build them fast enough. They would most likely have waiting lists of people wanting to buy one. Those would go down as one of the best washers ever made and certainly be the best washers on the market nowadays period.

They both have a 3.2 cuft capacity. That's identical capacity to the Kenmore 80, with the exception that the Speed Queen actually is supposed to fill up tto the top of the container/barrel.

The Classic Clean model is far superior when talking efficiency. It cleans better and removes stains better as well. And when customers talk about the wash action being too aggressive, I remind them they have a multi speed motor and advise them to use delicate. I’ve diagnosed many of the TR7’s with drive issues at less than 3 years. Stick with the ‘Classic’, you’ll get 20 years of service.

I've used the TR7 before. I do like that it's quiet, it has a longer warranty, and that it has the extra features. But it's definitely not as good at cleaning than the classic models. It's more aggressive because it gets out more soap suds and stains you'd be surprised alot of people would get to have, duh! Also if you're washing a bed comforter, the TR7 will do a horrible job at turning over. And the extra features are just more things that can break in the circuitry so you're gonna need to have those two extra years because I have in fact seen these boards fail, actually more than the TC5. Honestly, why don't you recommend the FF7 instead? If I had to get a Speed Queen, that's what I'd buy. Just as quiet, saves water and electricity, cleans better than any Speed Queen top loader, and has the best capacity.

I think I agree but I admit I'll like to see a comparison. I have the TR7 and, while I dislike the washing capability with basic settings, you can put tons of settings that can beef up the washing (wash cycle, soil level, soak, maybe pre-wash,...).

I know you post your comment 3 months ago but I desperately need an honest opinion. Which washer would you say washes better? I have five sons, my husband builds houses, clears land, puts in septic systems, ect. I garden and we have a farm. So, you can imagine how dirty our clothes get. Will the TR get the dirt out if the correct options are used, or will the TC be necessary? We live in a tiny town. The only place around only carries the TR3. If I get the TC5 I will have to wait 2 weeks for delivery and my basement is flooded now. Meaning I need a washer asap, but I don't want to spend that much on a washer that won't work for my family. Please, I really need to know your thoughts on this.

@@loraann54fi10 I've had both the TR7 and TC5, my TR7 didn't clean anything. I tried basically every setting except for the delicate cycle and it didn't clean well at all, plus would go off balance semi- often. It uses an agitub design which means the tub is attached to the agitator and they spin together. This means that the clothes just get spun in either direction and the only agitation happens when it switches direction. It might clean the items at the bottom but the laundry in the middle or top is just along for the ride haha. When I changed to the TC5 I noticed the clothes were instantly cleaner and softer, and I didn't change my detergent usage. The TC5 is the one for you, and if you need a really gentle cycle for knits, the delicate is super gentle. The main complaints I have about mine are that the lowest water level is about 2/3rds full, so I cant wash small loads without wasting a lot of water, and that the computer boards/switches are junk, they failed miserably a few weeks back. otherwise its a pretty good machine, and I LOVE the fact that it has no lid lock, so you don't have to pause and wait for it to unlock, and if you bypass it you can fully run the machine with the lid open! But if you want to be able to wash small loads without wasting a lot of water I'd recommend the Maytag MVWP586GW because it has a full water level selector just like the old machines, and a better dual action agitator which turns over the clothes faster. I wish I would've gotten the maytag when I purchased mine but it wasn't available :l. Best of luck with getting things sorted, and I hope you can get a great washer soon! Hope this helped :D
