TPU Fabric Heat Sealing Explanation for making a Packraft
In this video we briefly look into heat sealing TPU coated high temperature nylon at home using a craft iron.
This is the main principle behind making an IRON RAFT Packraft at home.

Useful lesson, thank you!
Would that method also work for thicker vinyl? Let's say the same material which drybags are made of?
where can you buy the fabric?
Great video, thanks! Is that iron you are using coated with something so the plastic doesn't stick to the iron?

Thanks Robert. The Iron has a teflon coating, although it has worn off at the tip as you may be able to see in the video. Our fabric is high temperature nylon so it will not melt/stick to the iron around 200 deg. so it is more to do with the fabric rather than the coating on iron.
Which iron do you use?
Hello sir, this heat sealing technique we use for only TPU fabric, BUT joining PVC FABRIC is possible from this same heat sealing technique?

I'm afraid we have no experience with PVC, however I do not think it would be possible.
200 degrees? Fahrenheit or Celsius? You should always specify.
