    I went ahead with purchasing this mesh system to improve connectivity of my Ring cameras. I was an advocate of TP Link but am disappointed at how they've started moving features behind a pay wall. I won't let that get me down, but it is something that I'll strongly remember in future purchases.

    I agree. I don’t dislike tplink products but I find it annoying how they’re trying to squeeze more money out of everyone. The feature is already there and built into the router. Having to pay extra to use it is frustrating. At that rate you could go with a more expensive brand that offers these features without making you pay extra and long term save money.

    I was also wondering if I get T-Mobile home internet would it work correctly if I were to plug a router in the tmobile gateway before powering it up initially or do you have to set it up then turn it off and connect it, I was wondering because I don’t have it yet and I was looking into getting it?

  • @helphq

    @helphq

    No the gateway requires you to set it up and activate it in the app first. After you set it up you can turn the Wi-Fi off on the gateway and setup the router. However the coverage on the gateways are decent so you might not even need the router.

    Hi I have a T-Mobile Home internet with Arcadyan Gateway. Do you simply plug in the Deco AXE5400 mesh and use it as your router or do you have to use it as access point? I do not see any option for the T-Mobile gateway to set to bridge mode. I am concern about signal interference.

    I turned off the wifi using this method: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eIh9m6OIkbzLlMY.html Then I plugged in the deco to the T-Mobile modem and ran the setup in the deco app on my phone. One thing to note is if you have T-Mobile internet the MTU needs to be 1420. The AXE5400 does not currently allow you to change the MTU. It is preset to 1500 which is standard. It can effect your ping and speeds. It will work, but I just wanted you to be aware of this as it could hinder the quality of your service. I returned mine and ordered a different brand that allows you to update the MTU. I’m working on an update video now.

    my air conditioner only provides connection over 2.4 ghz band. but I want to buy a new generation mesh. I'm not very knowledgeable in technology. TV, xiaomi mop pro, phone and air conditioner. can i connect them all to the mesh system. and most models of tp link, including xe75 pro. There are users who say that there is a wifi connection problem. thats annoying. I'm wondering what your suggestion for a seamless mesh system is.

  • @helphq

    @helphq

    10 ай бұрын

    You shouldn’t have an issue connecting your air conditioner to a mesh system. Most newer systems automatically select either 2.4 or 5 GHz for you based on the device that is trying to connect to it, but they just “merge” the SSIDs so that you as the user only see one instead of two (one for 2.4 and one for 5Ghz). In most cases you can go into the setting and turn this off if you need to force a device like your air conditioner on 2.4Ghz if for whatever reason it isn’t working. I like eero. I haven’t had any issues with either of the systems I’ve owned. Tp Link is going to be a better bang for buck if you’re trying to save money. I didn’t have any issues with this system when I owned it. I only returned it because I needed to be able to change a very specific setting that this router didn’t have. Most people don’t need this.

    Can you use any router with T-Mobile home internet or does it have to be a certain type?

  • @helphq

    @helphq

    Yeah you can use any router. It wouldn’t make sense to use one that’s older though. I’d make sure it is at least Wi-Fi 6 because that is what the gateways are.

    I’d love to give you an answer on this specific question, but since it requires a home shield subscription I did not test or use this feature. From what I have read it will allow you to setup profiles for each person/child and then add devices to their profile. From there you can pause, unpause or block devices. You can also set a window in which the device will have access to the internet. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.

    What’s the point if there’s no client that can handle 6e?

  • @helphq

    @helphq

    A faster back-haul. Although 6ghz can travel a shorter distance and doesn’t penetrate walls as well when compared to 5Ghz. Personally I’d skip the first iteration of 6e and just get a triband wifi 6 mesh system. This uses a 5ghz backhaul. In theory the 6ghz backhaul will give you better speeds at each satellite. I think most people won’t see a difference in day to day use.

    @Boba Milk Tea U are thinking too much in the present. Any new smartphone/computer/tablet you buy in 2022 and even some from 2021 support the 6 GHz wifi that can handle 6E. 6 GHz wifi is the future and if u are going to buy a wifi router, you definitely do NOT want to buy just a wifi 6 router if you want to be future proof. I don't know about you but I don't want to constantly be buying new routers.

    I don’t have them anymore but when I didn’t have them they worked fine. I didn’t have any issues with them cutting out or weird resetting issues or anything. I switched to eero 6 pros because tp link requires you to pay for a subscription to use certain features and I wasn’t a fan of that. It was also lacking the ability to change the MTU which I needed for 5G internet through TMobile
