The OEM Toyota filter wrench is a great one as well for the filter housings. A little pricey though and my dealership doesn’t supply them… like $90 CAD lol but no issues that I’ve encountered with it!

car repair is tool intensive. I am a tool (mostly antique) restorer so I have tools to fix tools but it is neat seeing what everyone uses on what.

I may have missed it, but 36mm 12pt deep impact socket for fj cruiser, 4Runner, and GX front axle nuts. My 19mm snap on torque adapter has been a godsend for retorquing the UCA through bolts when doing suspension work. Non marring pry tools for door panels as well. It’s also great to see someone recommend air tools. I’m just a DIY guy, but I’ve been leaning towards air tools just to save money and I’ve already got a compressor.

yeah there was a few tools i missed. 39mm axle nuts for newer land cruisers and tundras, some interior tools, etc. but this was just a broad overview. the torque adapter is definitely good to have, but they’re now 21 or 22mm for UCA bolts so i need to get a crows foot to torque it

All new techs, I tell to buy semi deep sockets first

I think the ryobi impacts are a great value. I dropped mine ina. Bucket of atf and it’s still kicking ass. The p262 is a good mid torque then they have the high torque. Right now I think the high torque is going for $160 with a 4ah battery and charger. It’ll definitely last a year and it’s made by the same company that makes Milwaukee so the internal components are definitely going to be the same.

snap-on tech angle are the way to go if you have the money. if not clickers from snap-on are great as well. if you’re a professional get snap-on, if you’re a DIYer you could get away with like a Tekton split beam which is what i have for wheels

Hey man! New here and i like the content! I have a question for you and anyone here. My 3/8" dewalt ratchet just fucked up and ive been looking into another one. I have never used a flex head but damn it looks nice. So question, are flexheads worth it? Also, should i get a flex head that locks? And finally, im not a professional mechanic but i do use ratchets fairly often just for home use. What are some quality but also budget friendly options. I want it to last but dont see the value in buying a snap-on for myself. Thanks to everyone who responds. This channel is kickass and u got a new subscriber!

appreciate it man! as far as ratchets go, i haven’t used a straight head in years. once i went flex head there was no turning back. personally, i’m not a fan of the locking flex. you can also find good deals on a used snap-on ratchet or Ko-Ken is a great option. those are my 2 favorite ratchets i have

I like flexheads too. If you're putting some pressure on, it can be a little daunting to keep the handle the way you want it but they're over all time savers. You can jam them where straight handles can't and these days they're generally strong enough to not worry about needing flexheads. Hell, the freaking 40ish dollar 3/8 icon flexhead (if you do buy icon ratchets buy the flexheads, their fixed heads suck) can handle around 280 ftlbs. You can use shorter ones as a sort of palm ratchet too to speed out bolts after you break them loose.

Olight is a superior light I recommend them over streamlight and I loved them but after seeing the quality of the light man what a difference. Koken also Steel is superior to Snapon metals and tools along others I believe mind I like Snapon not because they are expensively overpriced but because there are better steel quality but for beginning that wanna save some money they won’t go wrong. Love the vids though enjoy and can’t wait for them for I’m a tool addict 🤙🏾

i bought most of my stuff from HF first and then started replacing with better tools when they failed or broke don't waste money on a expensive tool cart right away. battery lines dont matter to much anymore since you can get adapters

yep that’s why i said start with air. battery tools are awesome but buying the batteries is more expensive than the tools usually

Have you ever had any OSK tools? I just found out abo it then and was gonna try them because not only do they look amazing but they sell blacked out tools and blacked out ratchets. They look amazing but just never heard about them

@@TxToolGuy their from Germany but they look amazing. Their tools are flat black and the ratchet ones have like a golden goth style selector. Their website says their pretty quality like maybe mac quality but I haven’t seen a single video of anyone reviewing them or anything. Their KZread channel even has crazy edits of the tools but there’s literally zero comments so idk how good they are. Was probably going to order some soon

Don’t get me wrong, I prefer air tools…but my 8aH DeWalt XR and two batteries together didn’t cost $550 lol. So that’s just false. That wasn’t even during a deal week or Black Friday. The only thing that comes close is the Milwaukee 1/2” and 3/8” with two m18 Fuel batteries and charger kit for $550 which I’ve also gotten before.

not false, go check the price of an 8ah battery at lowes right now. it’s $229, and the impact is $249. granted when i bought my stuff it was cheaper as well but i based my statement off current prices. obviously you can find it cheaper if you wait and search around but not everyone does that my guy

Off the top of my head a split beam torque wrench and pocket pry bars are a must for anone wanting efficient daily work with sensors and wheelzzzzzzzz..... Maybe even torque sticks.

Idk where u got ur dewalt gun but they have same one at lowes for 199 for battery n charger get the gun for free

you can find deals, like i stated in the video. but a lot of the times with battery tools you pay more for a good big Ah battery than the tool itself

Question for you? I work on several different makes n models in my driveway, your opinion am I better off with the VIM PLUG SOCKETS WITH RUBBER BOOTS OR MAGNETIC? $60 price difference and worried bout boot coming off inside coil tube especially couple Audi 2.0s I'm doing work on. Man I don't like that engine, eats oil, water pump leaks common n high pressure fuel pumps go.

personally, i like the rubber boot over magnetic. my experience with magnetic was that sometimes it would crack the porcelain or wouldn’t want to come out of the plug hole because it was magnetized to the plug. my snap-on one actually had the magnet come out once too stuck on a plug

@@TxToolGuy Good to know, recently bought the VIM set with boots because I didn't have the extra cash while picking up a number of things I needed. Haven't used them yet but probably this week or next. 16 Highlander plugs, coolant flush, and oil change with rethreading the pan after lube place stripped old drain.

​@@Anthony-wj6xbI have the full VIM spark plug socket set. I regret the purchase, the rubber stays behind on the spark plugs. Koken and Hazet make spark plug sockets with metal gripping fingers inside. I have the Hazet and it is fantastic, much better than my Snap-on.
