    Even tough i do have some experience on the "basic service", as I have prevouisly serviced my 1995 180i GSE Corolla and also my 1996 2.8D Hilux a lot, I am happy that I have watched your video today as I learned about the heat transfer pipe. Most of the tazz cars that I saw, does not have that pipe anymore. I bought a 2005 Tazz 130 two months ago. The car had a smoke far more than this one, but I went on to buy it because of the body interior and exterior that is in a really good condition. I had a very good mechanic that sort it out for me. He replaced the valve stem seals and piston rings, obviously quite a few other parts as well, clutch kit, timing belt snd pulleys, etc. But guys it was worthwile as my car sound even better at the exhaust now, no smoke at all.. and this was done now on 150 000km. I can't wait to play around with an exhaust system.. 😃 Stay blessed ToyBoys!!

    Lovely vehicles those, just needs the headlights polished a little and the brake fluid changed, and it will be a new vehicle. Biggest problem is that coil, as it is a very expensive item. Had the distributor stolen off a Venture, parked right outside the door, and that was over R12k as parts brand new from Toyota, but luckily I was able to find one from a rolled vehicle at a scrapyard for R1000, and put it in. IIRC R6500 for the body, R4500 for the cap with coil, and R2000 for the rotor, and they did not have them in stock, nor did they have the clamp and the bolt either. Scrapyard came complete with plug leads, clamp and bolt, plus all the hoses, just had to take a 10mm spanner and pliers with to do the removal.

Also, My clutch pedal feels a bit different. It starts to move the car at a very low level before i could lift my foot until a certain point to feel the biting point.

    It could be a low oil level, but then it will also have a rumbling noise while driving, it could also be clutch-related, does the pedal travel feel normal or short.

    The speedo is activated by a cable that connects to the gearbox, it has 2 parts that screw into each other, it is normally the second half that screws into the gearbox that snaps, remove that half, and check, good luck.

    i want to do an oil service on my ee100 corolla 2e but not change spark plugs, the reason for that is a mechanic cross thread my nr 2 plug and im afraid the new one wont set if I remove the old one

  • @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790

    @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790

    2 жыл бұрын

    Best not to remove that plug Len, unless you are prepared to put an insert into that cylinder, An insert is a short metal tube with the inside thread of a spark plug and an outer thread slightly bigger, the idea is to tap the damaged plug hole to the outer thread of the insert with a special threading tap then the insert is simply screwed in and serves as a permanent fix, as now you can remove the spark plug whenever you need to as locktite is used to permanently hold the outer thread of the insert once screwed in. I performed this procedure many times over the years but recently I could not find the inserts for sale anymore.

I hope this helps wishing you an awesome 2021. Gary

    Hi Thabang, thanks for your continued support, main things are, check for any accident damage, like the gaps between the doors boot and bonnet, it should be even, loose body panels, ensure all lights works. Before start-up, check the oil and water levels, if it is low there could be engine problems, listen for funny noises, also check out this article I wrote on my website. www.vehiclemaintenanceandrepairs.com/buying-a-car-101/

  • @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790

    @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Lawrence thanks for supporting the channel with your visit, your question is not a simple one, there are many components used in the efficient delivery of fuel, depending on whether it is a fuel injection or carb system. Things like fuel pump could be faulty- not delivering the correct fuel pressure, fuel filter could be blocked, carb could have blocked jets, fuel pressure regulator could be faulty by not allowing the correct quantity of fuel to the system, choke/cold start system may be faulty, fuel lines can be kinked or damaged, fuel injectors could be partially blocked or faulty it must systematically be assessed starting at the most common known causes. I hope this puts you in a more enlightened position. Gary

    Sounds like the coil, it is situated under the distributor cap, I had a few cases when this happened and replacing the coil sorted the problem.

    Hi Gary our tazz has issues at idling, engine cuts out and when the car has run for a while and is obviously hot it wont start again. then after a while it will start, what can i look for ? regards

  • @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790

    Hi Philip, the carburettor could be flooding, therefore not idling, too much fuel, then it would not start immediately because the intake is full of unburnt fuel. Leaving it for a while allows the excess fuel to evaporate, allowing the car to then be started.

    M driving Toyota Tazz 2E Oil keeps on spraying from the seal. Different mechanics fitted new seals but still, it leaks. What could be the problem?

  • @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790

    @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Kgothatso, thanks for supporting my channel with your visit, it sounds like there may be too much crankcase pressure causing the seal to blow, it could be caused by a blocked PCV valve or too much sump compression caused by worn pistons. I wish you luck with solving your issue. Gary

    Hi Sir, really hope you good. I'm having problems with my tazz conquest, its leaking oil a lot, which is causing a knock in the engine. this is going to either break my brearings or block of the engine, what would you suggest I do?

    Hi Clayton, if the engine already has a knock (the damage is already done) then it must be overhauled, done correctly this will sort the leaks at the same time.
