1/24 Toyota Supra model kit: amzn.to/3Btxz49
Hey guys, in this video I will show you how to build a 1/24 scale Toyota Supra model car by Tamiya. This MkIV Supra is one of my favorite Tamiya kits because a very detailed 2JZGTE engine is provided in this kit, with very little efforts you can produce a great looking model.
I have had this kit for a while but it has been sitting in the storage room because I was not sure what form I should make it into. I have seen many modelers customize it with bigger turbos and wider body kits, some are kitted with Fast&Furious Supra transit kit, those builds are really cool but after spending some time thinking about which direction I should go with this Supra, I have decided to just keep it bone stock and paint it my favorite color.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video and don’t forget to subscribe to the channel.
You are welcome to watch my other builds on my channel as well.

5:15 The paint and body work really is a lot like the real thing. Over in the auto painting world, we call that first coat a "tack coat." You only want to spray enough to make the surface tacky. I must say; Jun's painting skills are impressive.
IS THAT A SUPRA ?! you made it looks so easy to do. Kinda want to try myself, but never had the confidence to do it ahah. Anyway really cool video, awesome job.

Awesome build! Love your build style. But you got a small mistake🙈 there are 2 types of the mk4 supra. The prefacelift and the facelift version. When hand painting do you add thinner, or any other reducer or flow improver to the Tamiya paint?
Hey jun nice work..I would like to ask for using liquid surface primer ..how do you thin the primers. I want to try that primer as well ..Thanks in advance
Hey Jun. Nice Build man. I have a question for you. Is it possible to create a bodykit similar to the Top Secret GT300 Toyota Supra?
Nice. 24123 in production since 1993.
tell me if you have an airbrush and use it only for surfacer? why do you dont use it to spray a white color and varnish to get better results?
This is not only well made visually but also I can compare the sound of the video to the asmr video
I will try my first car in a few days and I want to know how to do the templates for the windows, you seem to have a pretty sturdy hand unlike me. Any ideas on how to do it? Thanks in advance! The car looks incredible btw! 😃
I must say jun your work on this supra has made it worthy of any (if only in small scale) jdm collection dream car wishes coming true as we know theses days the prices for 90s Japanese sport cars have goting so expensive to the point that rivals modern day hypercars anyway great job on this clean build my friend so see you later bye now. P.S. Oh jun i want to tell you that tamiya has model kit for third generation supra too my friend i hope this intresyou so bye now.
Such artisanship. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Great video
superb job!
Lovely air brushing and brush painting 👍
Hi, I have brought this mode kit but in past kits from Tamiya, I haven’t been able to remove the stickers from the backing sheet, how do you do it? And without breaking them in the process too
Awesome build 👌🏽 any kits or tools you recommend for someone wanting to get into building model cars?
@JunsMiniGarage
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏 To start building models you don’t need a lot of tools, I keep using the same basic tools(Side cutters, scissors, craft knife, sand papers of different grits and super glue)which work great for me and help me build my kits. If you are only building one or two models, spray can paints will do. I will have a video tutorial on how to get into the hobby on the channel soon.

very nice Jun
hey, this is my second video from your channel that came from my recommendations, do you happen to have videos on any model of the silvia class? or are there not any model kits of the Silvia's?
I know this is probably your most asked question, but what supplies should I need for this? This is going to be my first kit build ever so I would like to know if you don’t mind. I’m also thinking about putting different rims on this than the stock ones as I don’t like the original rims, But I don’t know how to tell if they will fit or not. Hope I was clear enough and thank you! P.S. I love the mini garage thumbnails
@JunsMiniGarage
3 жыл бұрын
For beginner you don’t need a lot of tools, simple tools such as side cutters, craft knife, sand papers, glue and paint are basically all you need for your first kit. As for wheels you can modify other wheels to fit but the easiest way is to glue them on the brakes. But since it’s your first kit, I wouldn’t worry about the result, just enjoy the process and experience.
Super model, you a very cool.
Wow! Amazing! You should do the MK5 next.👀
Excellent work thanks for upload this video I subscribe you

awesome
I can’t quite get the black paint on the area around the tail light how do you do that?

Whats the reason trace all the panel lines with razor blade? Ans also why not start with white primer instead of going from grey->white primer?
What is your typical wait time between primer & paint, paint & clear, ect. Love the vids!
Excellent
Can i use tamiya ts-80 to seal the pain and put tamiya compound after?

Nice supra bro
Hey Jun I was wondering what wheels you have from the instagram post you posted. I have the same exact model sitting around and wanted to build it. I’ve been looking for some wheels for it and was wondering if those just clicked in and fitted perfectly or if I would have to do a bit of modifications on the wheel and the wheel wells. Thank you for providing me with such a great video,
@JunsMiniGarage
3 жыл бұрын
For this model I use the stock wheels out of the box, you can use different set of wheels but unless they have the same fitting you will have to modify them to fit. Tamiya has male fittings but Fujimi and Aoshima has female fitting, so If you have wheels of the same brand most likely you can swap them out easily, if not then the easiest way is to trim the mounting point of the wheels then glue them onto the brakes of the car, but they won’t roll anymore. If you want to keep them rolling then you need to modify them. Inner fenders don’t usually need sanding but they might if you wanna slam and stance it. Hope it helps :)

sorry, must have mistaken you with another builders supra build. But thanks for the advice and keep up the good work.
underrated
That car would look sooooooooo good in red!
Nice Tamiya right there
Would anyone know if it would work if I just made the body of the Supra then put it on a1/24 drift chassis
Do tamiya kits need glue for assembly or can you just “snap” the pieces together?
JUN, what is a good cleaner to use if I accidentally get fingerprints on my model car windshield when I’m building it ?
@JunsMiniGarage
Жыл бұрын
I usually clean finger prints with auto detailing products. The “quick detail” type of cleaner works well for me. For windshield I usually clean it with micro fiber cloth with a little bit of quick detail cleaning solution.
What starter kits would you reccomend for beginners
IS 23 ml enough? For the motor and other thinks under car if not how manny bottles did u used?
what glue do you use to put together painted parts...??? because i use tamiya thin cement (orange one) and my paint work always come off like im using paint remover and it makes every thing go muggy and stuff so i was curious how you get your painted parts so good???
@JunsMiniGarage
10 ай бұрын
I used BSI super gold plus which is a super glue. It works well for painted parts, it won’t frost clear parts either. Just be careful when applying it to the parts because it’s still super glue. If you apply too much it will still spill and create a mess.
Oh so nice car
Is there a reason for using airbrush for the primer and a spray paint can for the rest? Why not use airbrush for everything? Sorry if its a stupid question, Im still new to this
Question, what exact glue are you using for your headlight and taillight lenses? I'm planning to build one of these but as a 1/24 RC drift body and will just be doing the exterior.
@JunsMiniGarage

Hello! Could you tell me what thinning ratio do you use with those Tamiya's surface primers and at what psi? I can't find it right :( Do you use Laquer thinner to thin it?
@lankaat
2 жыл бұрын
I don't know about tamia paints but I guess they use a general plastic primer with acrylic paints and clear lacquers. For all these products, paint thinners would work (not general thinners as they will melt plastic sometimes). It's really upto you to decide the ratio. Typically about 1:1. You have to test and see what's ideal for the surface. The more thinner, the another it will come out. But also more likely to drip so got to go light.
So fresh and so clean!
