I am replacing the flimsy worn-out rear 12V outlet with a better made marine-grade one. I run a cooler in the back. Also once the panel is off I'll be able to pound out a minor dent. This was very helpful. Thanks!

Sir, I can't thank you enough for posting this video. Two things that stress me out when trying to do this kind of thing: 1. Not having info on how. 2. Breaking the clips or fasteners because of the first thing. I need access to the top of the unibody rails that the rear hitch screws into from underneath...great video!!!

Thank you so much, I'm buying an 04 Sienna soon for a camper conversion, and plan on modifying that exact panel. And the reference photos are also very useful. With liability rules, my local wrecking yard brings all parts to the front, no looking at actual vehicles allowed. Hard to get interior measurements without climbing inside one. Thanks again.

Thank you. This was very helpful. I removed the passenger side panel on mine and the process was nearly the same. Your advice about pulling the panel off from the top was useful. I had to get at a terrible squeak coming from a recently installed shock. The little access panel for it wasn’t big enough. Sprayed some silicone in between the bushings and problem solved.

My daughter and I just used this video to remove the panel from her 2013 Sienna since we could not find one for the later model years. There were a couple of minor differences that were easy to adapt to, including removing a couple straps that hold the baby seat. Interior light and attachment point are different, but easy. When we got to removing the panel, things looked very different. The panel on later models is made up using two panels, a lower like this, but fastened to it is and upper panel. So there are two panels rather than one. It looks like you take them out separately, but you don't! They are fastened permanently together making a large panel similar to the one in this video. Do NOT try to separate them. We broke one joint trying, but will be able to fix that. Removal is really similar to the one here, although the design is a little different. Popping the front out is easy. The trickiest part is starting at the upper back corner and pop out the back edge as shown here. You have to work your way forward popping out snaps in the door pocket. Its a little tricky and you can kind o get your hand behind as you go and pull with a bent tool. There are three snaps at the top of the pocket. I wish that the guy who made this video would make one for the later model. I am sure it would be great like this one. Thanks.

I was so happy to find this video! Our rear seat belts had been torn and cut-off by hauling around sheets of aluminum in our 2005 Sienna van, and I wanted to replace them before we consider trading it in on a newer vehicle. I had downloaded the Toyota manual instructions, but this makes it much more understandable. I found 2 used seat belts in good condition at a www.autowrecking.com for under $80.00 including shipping. So hope to get them installed this week.

@@carquestions Well, I took off the passenger side panel first since that was the belt that had been completely cut off and retracted into the side panel. I discovered to my dismay that the backseat air conditioning system for the third row was included on that side and I couldn't figure how to dismantle it enough to access the second bolt for the seat belt retractor. So, I guess that I'll pay a visit to my local body shop tomorrow to see if they can do it or tell me how to. The driver side should be a snap compared to this side.

After doing more research on the tsienna.net site, and looking at a copy of the 2005 repair manual that I had downloaded a few years back, I was able to finally figure out how to move the ducting in the RR corner pillar enough to allow access to the bottom bolt of the seat belt retractor. There's a clip on the ducting that is made out of the same material, so once removed, the vertical duct can be moved out and away. So one belt is replaced, and I'll do the easy one on the driver side tomorrow.

Got the left side seat belt replaced today. Removing the side panel went much easier, but discovered that 4 of the blue clips were left on the steel panel, and finally figured that a pair of needle-nosed pliers were the best way to remove them. Had to grip on the narrow part of the stem from the side and use a screwdriver or pliers handle to act as a fulcrum to lift the clip out of the hole. Hopefully this will be the last time that I need to take these panels off.

So I replaced the speakers on both sides in the back today, and can say both side panels are just as easy and are VERY similar. Only real differences are no trunk light in the rear, but there is a door for the jack and tools. Don't have to but I removed it just to have a handle to grab onto...just saying since the author is not answering 🙂

@@carquestions Glass went in pretty easy, the top plastics are bolted in with 2 10mm bolts, a couple of seatbelt bolts which collect corrosion on the ends that I highly recommend loosing and then spraying with a little PB Blaster and let sit a few minutes before running all the way out, I used my impact driver for them, you'll want an impact or a socket breaker bar for them. Window is held in place with 2 long studs/bolts that attach to it and run through a hollow frame rail you don't want to lose the nuts into, the studs are permanently attached and come on the new window which you will need a 3/8 deep socket for the specialty nuts you don't want to lose into the body of the van (only non metric on the entire vehicle), I ran them all the way out then back in slightly and then removed them carefully with a pair of needle nose pliers (vent model rear quarter windows). You'll want to use blue tape to hold the new window in place while bolting it in unless you have a helper. I should have made a video and posted it but it was just me and I was in a bit of a rush. On a scale of 1-10 it was about a 6 difficulty level.
