.............................................................
Introducing what might be the most exciting car Toyota has EVER produced - the new Toyota GR Yaris!
This super-sporty edition of Toyota’s popular small family car is effectively a rally car built for the road. Hidden under the bonnet you’ll find a 1.6-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol, which will produce 261hp & 360Nm of torque! But it’s no surprise it’ll put down so much, given it’s the most powerful 3-cylinder turbo available in 2020!
So, are you loving the sound of it?! Of course you are! The question is, would you be willing to spend over £30,000 on a Yaris?! It's going to be super rare, with only 25,000 set to be produced worldwide! But even with that in mind, would you be better off spending a bit less & picking up a Fiesta ST?
There’s only one way to find out what you should do - stick with Mat for his latest in-depth review!

    @@hassankhan384 While I agree with you on the most part, you cannot really say it's all bollocks since many many manufacturers are going 100% electric in a few years time. That doesn't mean that old cars will disappear though, and I will probably also be driving a petrol car until they aren't legal anymore. I am hoping that once electric cars become more normal the styling will also go a bit more normal, I am not a huge fan of electric cars that try to be something different.

    @@5ANDEZ yeh but I really don't like electric cars at all, and I hope they don't make these common I would hate to see them on roads, also for me they aren't green at all they are far worse then regular cars as evs also are as much bad or more bad for the environment then running a petrol cars and keeping older cars running, as the batteries are harmful to make as its called mining for the lithum, bad for environment, and to dispose old batteries they also will need to find solution for that and I don't see any solution for that as they can't throw them away as they are lithum batteries and very big as well and can't be burned too, also to charge the cars amount of electricity that will be used in households and public it won't work it'll have too much load and can casue big issues also most electricity is still non renewable energy, comes from burning coals, as solar power is only based on sunlight which in uk we hardly get, and wind power thats only in open lands and even those have their own negative for wild life, EVs aren't sustainable in my opinion and they are being pushed towards us just because of this techy trend and so called environment friendly thats just governments excuse to charge us for more tax on vehicles and car makers can charge more labour as no one will be able to fix cars on their own or in drive ways not EVs as they are dangerous to even fiddle with.

  • @5ANDEZ

    @5ANDEZ

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@hassankhan384 Well atleast here in Finland the taxes are lower on electric cars. The lithium mining isn't great, and electric cars are non polluting only locally. That being said it is the future, like it or not. I am still not a huge fan, but I still accept that it is how it is. It's not like I am buying a new car anyway, so it doesn't matter much to me personally. Charging places and charging times are also a big limiting factor for many people who need to drive long distances to the countryside here, since charging can take hours and the range isn't enough to last even halfway through Finland.

  • @hassankhan384

    @hassankhan384

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@5ANDEZ see that's why I don't like EVs, also they have no engine so no sound, no real power from real engine and also all evs are ugly cars, I dont think future is EVs its just being pushed for time being as EVs came around 2013 and in uk they are less then 10% on roads, in last 8 years or so only that many evs are on road I don't think they would ever be a the main stream, and they can't ban petrol cars at all because there are millions of people still love petrol cars just as I do, EVs would be more of side cars for those idiots who think they are green and good when reality is they aren't, time will tell, let see how many EVs make it I already seen many teslas being in accidents and bad thing is that as soon as accidents happen EVs tend to go on fire instantly so driver has no chance of getting out or being saved. EVs are not green, not safe, and not sustainable in long run, at moment they might be cheap due to the popularity once if they do come normal cars on roads I can bet gov is gonna ripp you for not only taxing them but also increasing electricity bills sky high and petrol will be cheaper then electricity then.

But, dang. the way Matt talks about this car makes it sound like one of those rare initially affordable cars that become instant classic and almost disappears within a year because of rarity and people's obsession with them. Hope Mat’s having a better time with ‘his’ GR Yaris High Performance than I had with mine. Whereas the other two cars in my garage - the latest versions of Mini Cooper and Camaro 2SS - are a true joy on the Nordschleife at Nürburgring, I soon got bored of the overly 4WD-ish road feel, but perhaps a 2WD will always have better feedback through the steering and chassis. Not even Swedish gravel roads were much fun. Last but not least, what were they thinking of when putting all these panicky warnings from assistants and sensors into a fun hatch😱 … and forgetting giving the 6th gear a ratio that you can actually use on the motorways between your special stages/race tracks: this 1.6 L consumed more than my Camaro’s 6.2 L at speeds above 110 km/h (and only 98 Octane as opposed to the 95 that works for most new sports cars). It beggars belief. Anyways, I sold if after 8,000 km and less than half a year: a webuyanycar-rival paid €810 MORE than what a new one costs, so I guess I can’t complain 😊

Plus a 3 cylinder yaris, no matter how special, isn't anything to shout about. Its not like the 1M or a honda s2000, something special and kinda cool. I also predict not many of these will actually sell. People said the hyundai I30n would sell but when have you seen one of them on the road? The manual hot hatch is here to stay, until the world is highly electrified. Even then, you could be allowed. In fact, If I’m gonna be allowed one ICE car in the future, it will be a hot hatch or a hot saloon, not a supercar because I can realistically enjoy it on the road. Gt86, supra and now this. Toyota is going back to the golden era of japanese sports cars. (Ok, the supra can be a little disappointing because "iT's A BmW" and it doesn't come with a manual, and the design is a bit off, but it is a lot better than the a90 and it's a true and fast sports car.)
