It’s was about time this video tip came in handy! This has been happening to all our Toyota reach trucks. With the difference that it sounds more like a grinding noise when you steer. It hasn’t gotten this bad on the ones I’ve changed, but we have had to r&r the whole steer motor and retorque the steer motor plate that it bolt onto the truck

Wow. Yeah I don’t know if it’s just a bad design or what. Seems to happen a lot. I’ve had to weld that big ring gear in place after replacing it because it would just spin in place and the truck wouldn’t turn. Crazy stuff
