It's by time, Toyota starting to step up their game
Let's pray GRMN get their hands on this, will be so sick! Been a while since we had a compact performance sedan. Glad to see Toyota put in some effort after so many years.

Love your review! My wife has the 1.2 T XS hatch which is an absolute pleasure to pilot. Feels like a step up even from the A class (and I'm a Merc fan through and through). It handles like a song! Pulls like a 2litre plus. I do not know what the Corolla is like, but you have now confirmed that the N/A 2Litre is as good (since Ive lost faith in N/A engines. One thing: the manual change is quite jerky even IMT on. I still struggle with shifts and this car has been with us since April 2019 when the trusted RunX 1.6 RS was stolen.
Bru what a really great review, loved the nostalgic intro and the cinematic shots! Saw a white one of these in traffic, it looks so out of this world, so refreshing compared to its German and Korean rivals!
Wow this brand has such a following and I am truly impressed with what it's become with this new model hey just look at these comments. Brilliant review my sir starting with where it all began for most of us with the Corolla in some way or another.
As a BMW/VW guy, this video actually made me excited 🤣 also, saw the car on the road the other day - it looks great . Well done Toyota, also well done on the review Niyaaz , very cool
Looks amazing, I want one 😭 as a die hard Toyota fan, we all know Toyota's practical standards but just based off your driving review I would buy it
This is the type of review we know of you Niyaaz. Brilliant review and editing 👏
The additional advantage that buying the corolla will give you is a remarkable resale / tradeup value. If you compare it’s depreciation to other sedans of the same price you’d note that especially German sedans would depreciate hard. It’s another bonus with regards to the Toyota badge. That’s a banger of a video Niyaaz 🔥🔥 well done
Been using a 2005 corolla throughout varsity, I saw this car get bought while still in Primary school. A lot of memories created not one bad, it still runs that's corolla for you. I know what my first car's gonna be 😤
Your passionate review of this made me go and test drive the car. Sold my A6 the following week and now have a great car with added peace of mind and 8 year extended Warranty!! Keep up the good work my man.

Best intro to a car review ever!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What an intro! absolutely knailed it!
Nice review. I have the auris xr. The auto lights works well, I feel the sensitivity is excellent as it only comes on when you really need it, no auto brights on my model tho, just regular lights. Also, my fuel tank is also 50l and I can drive from CPT to PE with 1 tank when keeping to the speed limit the whole way. When pushing way above the limit then there's usually a refuel stop at storms before PE. Car is soft so very comfy when cruising. My wife's stock 1.4 runx is louder than my car when pushing it hard for some reason. Other than that no complaints. Toyota is reliable and cheap to run and maintain.
Love your videos keep up the good work
I told you many a times before lol, you starting to see the light! 😁💡
Totally in love with this car...prefer it aesthetically over the hatch even though I love my Auris...purchasing brand new, the price is steep for the "average joe" though...would have to hope it doesn't hold value as well as Toyota usually does so one could afford this generation Corolla in a few years...awesome car and awesome video though...keep it up👌🏽
well done to toyota with a good build, we hope for a strong market for it, and save happy miles for the owners
I can see people putting a "Run" badge in front of that Xr badge 🤭 Xr = Rx = RunX

Hey man, did you change your channel name? Also this review was really well done Niyaaz, and I normally think South African youtubers are super cringey but I really think you did well here. Keep pushing man!
From about the 2013 model, the clutch is not for first time drivers. Getting off the line is somewhat tricky at first. However the 6 speed manual encourages you to change gear all the time, you find yourself going very fast in town just to change gears like you’re Paul Walker!
Great content🔥💯✊🏾
Great review . Tell me on this manual can you feel the vvti/ lift kick in like the older rsi/rxi
What a deep hearted intro . Flabbergasted
Nice things bro✊🏾
I remember seeing 1 at a dealer just when they were launched and I was blown away at the way the Toyota Corolla has grown. It is a well put together model and will sell well. Why though there is no manual transmission for the 1.8 base model and only the CVT???? Awesome video

Great review with a different take on the Corolla culture. The car does have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto fitted. While the 1 .2T engine may help with torque delivery and overall drive, Toyota should dip into the Lexus 2.0T 8AR Turbo motor for this car to sit below a GRMN flagship.

The reviewer got so side tracked with this impressive vehicle that he missed out vital info.
Awesome review man. Seems like Japanese brands always seem to have had an issue with CVT it's like they don't want to move over to dual clutch for their mid range vehicles for some reason. Maybe they feel they going to loose their heritage by moving away from manual. When it comes to the other car brands outside of Japan it seems auto is the new manual and you have to specifically order a manual from what i have heard. When it comes to commuting traffic, auto is always going to win. I am maybe just getting old but bumper to bumper traffic with a manual is no longer fun especially when you look at all the advancements that have been made with auto. I definitely agree if they make a performance version of this car it will definitely move fast off the showroom floor and if they move to dual clutch even these entry models will move even faster
What an exciting person you are when reviewing. You can sell any car bru. No doubt it's a beautiful car. Is that fuel consumption of 8.2l / 100km based on your driving now?
i drive the previouss model all the time and the newer hatch 1.2t xr... and that hatch is very nervous on corners and very unsettled, i hope the sedan fixes that because the previous sedan had a very surefooted feeling on the curves. love the front, hate the rear
lovely video.
Very beautiful front end but not so sure about the back I think the lights could have matched the front but great video
I bought the 1.2L Turbo Hatchback, try that car out you’ll be even more suprised!!
I am soooo gonna get one.
Love it
The automatic headlight is great
toyota must put that engine in the corolla hatchback

Honestly, I am really impressed by the newe Corolla! I had 3 Corollas in my life (1.6 GLS, 1.6 Sprinter and the 1.8 Excl.)known as a bit boring cars. So I shifted to the Lexus range now, but this car is truly remarkable! 👍Toyota👆Excellent video buddy, thanks!!

This corolla is going to regarded as a baby Lexus. phenomenal build quality with the Toyota reliability and great looks. This is the first corolla that doesn't look like one...
A well needed improvement from the Quest models. A high end version would be the cherry on top.
💪🏻🥵
Ja pricing, in 1 year my car (new) went up by 40K.... never mind the options too.
Interesting about the fuel consumption. Thats actually quite heavy, i assume it is urban driving and not really open road? What consumption do you get on an open highway travelling 100/120km/h. Just to think back for example the sentra, also 2L, 45l tank, urban driving 450km per tank, open road can get up to 600km per tank. Would have thought newer tech would give better consumption, but ok, how much does it weigh? Very nice review Niyaaz 👌🏼 got to admit the car looks stunning!!

One option is a bigger fuel tank, another is a more economical engine. Toyotas are very reliable but most are not the best on fuel consumption and its been like that for decades

It’s 420k before extras. That’s R420 000 for a 2litre manual corolla. Either way you look at it it’s a lot of money. If you finance it as most do with interest it’s close to 550k. Now is it a good car yes! Does it look amazing yes! Value for money NO! We all know new cars are hellishly expensive. I was just pointing out to Niyaaz that the new corolla is in no ways a people’s car anymore at the price it is unobtainable for the average Joe. Which is disappointing given it has such a cult following. GTI has gone the same way it’s too much money to justify the price. UK has amazing lease deals which would make these cars a great option but SA is far behind with the trend. I own 2 vehicle both 5 years old and both combined cost less than this corolla and I’m smiling. Financing 550 plus on a corolla no matter how much money you have does not make sense.
it's expensive , wow

@@kovilanmoodley7464 no, people drive VW/Toyota. Individuals drive Opel.
Honest opinion... 1. Very poor performance from that 2L. Maybe that's all that the average joe would need if the car will only be running around town every day. But for the majority of families that would use it every day and still load the boot up and hook a fully loaded trailor to go away for the holiday's? Nah. I'd go for the d4d (if it's an option) or chip and tune that 2L. 2. It's 2020 and toyota still doesn't offer the option of a panoramic sunroof. 3. The headunit is outdated. Kinda sits on an odd place too like they forgot about it and someone reminded them afterwards, so they just stuck it to the dash and now it's his final resting place.
