Thank you Ed. My wife (in particular) and I are grateful you took the time to put together the video. Swapped relays, got cold air, bought new relay. Temps have been in the 90s lately here in Ohio so this was a welcome easy and cheap fix. Take care.
Thanks Ed 6 years later and still saving lives haha .
6 years later saved me lots time thanks buddy
This video saved us about 500$ on a new compressor and labor, thanks man!
Ed, mi amigo. I didn't find the ac relay on our 2003 Matrix because Toyota labeled it "M/G CLT" (I guess magnetic clutch?). Went looking for a fuse, but they put the dash fuses way up under the trim. We had green indicator light and stepped-up idle but no clutch engagement. Your little video was EXACTLY what we needed. Swapped the horn relay and the ac lit right up. Took the recharge kit back, bought an aftermarket relay for $15, and got $35 back. You're awesome!
Ed! - You saved my life! - Our AC in our Toyota has been out for a good six months - It's been so hot today in Florida that I had to do something - I swapped out the horn relay with the A/C relay and started the car - The AC kicked in cold right away! - I just ordered a pair of replacement relays on Amazon for about $10 - Thank you so much for posting this video!
Your suggestion at the beginning to check the relay ended up fixing my AC, and it only cost $16! Thanks so much for making this video!
Unreal. This was exactly what my problem was. When my AC stopped working I tried recharging it with a can from autozone years ago and gave up because it didnt fix it. Been driving the car for a long time with no AC thinking it would be too expensive to fix. Swapped relays and instantly had AC after not using it for YEARS. Thank you!!
Relay problem was the solution to my AC not working...switched the relays as suggested and AC worked perfectly. Horn beeped a few times and then stopped working so I figured relay was not working as suggested....thanks for your video and repair advice....probably saved me hundreds...$$$$$$
Glad I saw your video before getting the compressor changed! It was the relay and now my Corolla is blowing cold air again! Thanks so much!
Gotta love KZread for this stuff. One minute relay swap out and AC working again Thanks Ed !
wow thank you sir, a local mechanic was demanding $1000 to replace my compressor. you sir are a life saver.
Ed, thank you so much. You literally saved me a few hundred dollars and time. never knew to check that clutch relay.
Freaked out when my AC started working today...and this was the cause! Thanks so much for making this video :)
Thanks for the video. My friends mom has a 2004 corolla and her mechanic told her she needed a new ac compressor but I went to check it out and this relay was the problem. She was thankful because I saved her a bunch of money
This really saved me a lot of money. The technician I called was already asking to change the radiator, compressor, expansion valve. I did this and found the issue. It look slike I have a leakage so I will lokk into that. Thanks very much.

Wow. U just saved me three or four hundred dollars. Wish I had seen this a few years ago because toyota charged me for a drain and refill before telling me it was just that fuse. Course they charged me 390 dollars for that 18 dollar chip. 6 years later my ac stops working. I run across your video. Swap the chips like u showed. Horn wouldnt blow. Ac worked. Wow. 18 dollars for that chip and I was about to go to toyota again. Thank you very much.
Took a wild chance and it actually worked thank bro for this helpful tip saved me more than I wanted to spend
Thank you Ed, the tutorial came out to be exactly what I needed , that's some good job right there. God bless you.
Thank you very much for this video. Worked like a charm, and I'm sure that if I didn't take it upon myself to find your vid, I would have got ripped off for a repair I didn't need. You are the man!
Very informative and clear. Turned out to be exactly what was wrong with my AC.. My first mechanical fix. Cost me $15 for a new relay.
Thanks. Very straight forward. Fixed my problem right away. Saved me from the 100 degree weather i've been getting.
Worked great for me!!!! Such a quick and easy way to test the system. The replacement part cost around 9 dollars. Thank you so much.
Thank you THANK YOU so much for posting this! My compressor wasn't engaging, I was looking at $300 for a new one. swapped my horn with the compressor relay and its blowing cold as can be! Thank youuuuu!!!!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I did it on my break at work! I am a single parent and we suffered last summer and now we don't have to!!!! Bless you for sharing!!!
It just helped me to fix my car's air conditioning problem. Thanks man!
Positive results like so many others. Thanks for this knowledge
after three years of not having ac i have ac again. thank you my man.
Thank you! I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla that I purchased in 2003. The swap out with the horn relay worked. My husband bought & installed the A/C relay. It worked for 5 min and then faded back to hot ambient air. It turns out the new relay was defective. He got it exchanged and now it works perfectly. The exchanged relay was black as opposed to white. I don't know if that makes a difference; I'm just posting that in case it happens to someone else. God bless you, Ed.

99 to 04 corolla wunder if this would work for a 94 Corolla?
You saved my ass! I mean, $250, coz my mechanic told me it's the computer... Just did this trick and the AC worked again! Thank you!
Thanks Ed, I was about to purchase a ac compressor before I saw your video. You just saved me some money.
Thank you, i tried few things and nothing worked. Tired relay and now air conditioner works in car. Again thanks for your video. Watched lot of videos and this is only one that worked.
Good looking out man. Couldn't figure out what was going on. Switched the relays, and now I have cold air again. AWESOME!
You solved my problem I switched relay with my horn relay, bingo air conditioner worked.Just for the hell of it I tried the horn no horn. Thanks
The relay was my problem, thank you!
You just saved me a TON of money with an instant fix! You're the best!
You save me a lot of time troubleshooting my AC. So glad I found your video! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
another satisfied viewer! my mechanic probably would have sold me a new compressor, in addition to replacing my relay. Thanks, man.
Dude! Great fix!! I owe you big time!!
Very good advice, since the relay was not clearly labeled as the ac relay printed under the fuse cover. Also noted that the quick convenient check using the horn relay to trouble shoot the ac saved time and money not having to take it to a shop. Thanks again!
I love you, man, I used the your approach and solved my compressor not running problem. I was subsequently able to fill refrigerant and restore my AC. Thank you so much :)
Omg you saved my life lol I live in a desert and it was 105° today no more sweating my ass off! Thanks ed!
Thank you. This is exactly what was wrong with my 2004 Corolla.
Ed you ROCK!!! Relay was the issue and you solved it!! Thanks so Much!! Your Halo awaits!! A#1!!
Oh my gosh, it worked! I'm so happy to find out that the relay was the problem and not the A/C compressor clutch. Thank you!

Thanks man, I would have not known that relay was for A/C Clutch. All the box says for that relay is M/G CLT. if it said A/C CLT, i would have looked. it fixed my issues. KUDOS!
2003 Matrix...worked like a charm. The only thing I added was to check the horn with the relays swapped. No horn, yes A/C. Muchas Gracias.
