Toyota Camry Front Brake Pads And Rotor Replacement

This is a front disk brake and pad replacement video on my personal 1999 Camry CE with a 5 speed manual transmission. I bought it when it had around 120,000 on it with a worn out clutch. The Camry currently has around 270,000 miles on the clock. Outside of replacing normal wear and tear items (timing belt, water pump, suspension struts, radiator, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, window regulators, door handles, batteries, starter motor), the car has been running like a champ and I won't sell it. You'll see in the video a shinny new red suspension strut that I had recently installed. They are Gabriel struts purchased from rockauto.com as inventory reduction items. For a marked down price of $10 a strut, I couldn't pass on that deal. Besides, the SenSen struts installed a few years back had stiffened up with very little nitrogen gas pressure. They felt like constantly driving over rocks! Believe the Gabriel's are still out there for sale. Anyway, I hadn't serviced the brakes for the past several years and decided to replacement them with Raybestos brands that I've been installing on my customer's cars with great customer satisfaction. The rotors are coated corrosion resistant and are wonderful replacements. They consistently stay true and do not warp. For the price and performance, Raybestos EHT (Enhanced Hybrid Technology) brake pads is a great alternative to the pricey OE Akebono brake pads. Don't get me wrong. Akebono's are great brake pads. But if you're looking to save a few dollars on pad replacements, the EHT's are a good deal.

Another efficient and professional job done in short order. I see that you're going without your usual blue disposable work gloves, but I know they are in very short supply under the present conditions. Hope that you and all your family are well during these challenging times.

Hi there. I refer to your instructional videos when working on my 2005 crv. Had a question. Do you have any experience working with moog control arm bushings (front lower forward). They seem so stiff that they barely allow any lifting spacers in there. Or did i simply press them in the wrong orientation?

Try using some grease to wiggle them in. Also, it's easier if the steering knuckle was out of the way.
