The bulb i found to work for my 2005 Camry is a Sylvania 2721. IIt is a 12v 1.2W bulb. The Sylvania #74 is to large as the bayonet is to wide and will not make contact. Don't forget to put the little green rubber cap on your new light bulb before installing it.

The 2721 is 12v, but the one I took out has 14v written on it. It is 2004 camry xle. Wouldn't a less wattage be dimmed?

You don't have to take off the shifter plate (the P, R, N, D plate). The light bulb is accessible underneath it without removing it You can see the start of replacement at 2:06 where you just reach under to take out/replace the bulb which could've been done without taking the plate up/off

Are you saying you can reach under the bulb and twist it out? I.E. you don't need to visualize the top of the bulb?

This comment saved me one step from removing the shifter plate. Gear shifted to neutral to remove it easier but was able to just twist it out from underneath. Thanks!

Ive been told by mechanics to always wear gloves when replacing bulbs as the oil from fingers can cause the bulb to burn out faster.

I just replaced it on my 2003 Camry i did it in the parking lot of an Autozone, the bulb number is sylvania #2721. I broke the top piece on the shifter cover but it still works. Thanks for the video.

Removing the first shroud panel was easy. The second panel with the PNDR123 display is much more tricky...More detail needed on it's removal. The clips are so fragile, already broken two....and still have not removed it....I gave up after about 2 hours....taking to a professional..

Is there a fuse just for these lights? All of mine went out and I think it might be a fuse

I got my bulb from Advance Auto, Sylvania #2721. Fits and works perfect now! As Elle Bella2011 noted, bulb #74 14v does not fit.

My gear selector piece shattered I glued what I could be I was hoping to put on a new one as well as cover. Know how to get the knob out of the way so I can do that?

Patrick Weyand Hi, that button allows you to shift gears when the engine is off and no key in the ignition.

You can’t touch the bulb with bare finger because the oil on you fingers will stick to the bulb and overheat

I tried only to find out my connector is fucked up not the bulb ✌️😎

I took out a 2004 camry bulb and it has 14v, 1.4w printed on it.

I replaced with T5 led.
