One of the best V6s ever made in my opinion. it really sucks they didn’t offer more aftermarket performance parts, and stuff for it though, because i think it could’ve been a lot more bad ass engine than what it was, it definitely had the potential to be a little more powerful than what is was in stock form from the factory.

My 96 Camry just turned 400K a month ago with this engine, it does NOT burn/consume any oil between changes all original, I DO keep up the maintenance on it, I'm in love with my car, has never let me down 💪👌

I'm driving a 2002 Toyota Avalon. My grandfather picked it up out of state when I was about 15-16. Some lady blew up the engine in it from running it out of oil. His mechanic buddy called him and said it was a great car and just needed a new engine. He brought it home and had me help him with the swap. He has owned and drove the car as his daily ever since. He gave it to me just this last year. It is sitting at 320,000miles and anyone who sits in that car thinks it's at around 60,000miles from the way it runs, handles, and looks. I would LOVE to do a rebuild on the engine with my Grandfather before he passes just to ensure that the car is still rolling around for a long long time. Would love to see the odometer maxed out and have a bit of grandpa with me even after he's long gone. The only issue we've had was with the front ball joints, tie rods, CV axels, and control arms. Nothing unusual. These things just wear over time. It still drives fine but I have a brand new set of inner and outer tie rods, CV axels, control arms, and ball joints sitting at his house waiting to be installed. Can't wait to see how it handles after the install and alignment.

Great cars, just run full sin. oil and it'll last forever. Have had a spare 1MZFE for years now-ready to go, in case the one in there now fails, but noooo, just made a trip down to Baja past weekend, went all the way to Ensenada and back to AZ, no problems

The legendary 1mz-fe v6 engine is bulletproof if serviced correctly, they are the best quality and design v6 gasoline engine ever made. I own a 2005 Toyota camry v6 with this engine in it,just ticked over 280,000 kilometres and it runs like a new engine still. Im about to do the 100,000 kilometre timing belt, water pump, oil seals service on it as is required with these engines every 100,000 kilometres. Japan over engineered these engines and were made to such high quality standards thats why owners can get 500,000 kilometres out of these engines if serviced at correct intervals with the right replacement parts and not cheap chinese knock off ebay aftermarket crap parts. These engines are highly sought after nowdays and are becoming difficult to get a good one thats been looked after.

@@pickingalong OK i believe you but... you know the cam bearings are going in dry, and once the caps are bolted on - that's it for lubing them and they will start dry as bone metal to metal - until oil from the oil pump finally hits those bearings 30 long seconds later?

I use "Asian import" kind, not out of cheapness, but because I can't find Toyota coolant that isn't the cheaper "50/50" kind. The 50/50 is too diluted, in my view. I think 50/50 antifreeze in your enginecauses a much too low concentration of anti freeze, especially considering how much flushing water is left behind inside the engine after a flush. If you just add the 50/50 coolant, after a flush it is going to be more like 30/70 or 80/20 anti-freeze/water by the time you are done. So I always use straight coolant for the final fill, and distilled water for the rest. This way the anti-freeze concentration is higher. Even more important, using only distilled water for the final fill can prevent lots of cooling system corrosion down the road so I always use it - and it's another reason not to use the 50/50.
