The level design of Toy Story 2 is top tier. Such an underrated design of exploration and mystery.

Even beyond that, the physicality of the level design is great. The fact that they didn’t rely on floating platforms and instead made the levels feel like authentically real places is something I’ve really appreciated about this game in retrospect.

Same. This game kicked my butt as a kid (never made it out of Alleys and Gullies), so it's extra special to see it shredded.

Dude loses .002 seconds on the stairs. “That was ass.” Oooh he’d fucking beat the shit out of me if he saw how long it took me to get up the stairs on my first play through 2 days ago.

DAMN Al's Penthouse has such great music playing in the background, easily the greatest

Got the platinum for this game cos it looked fun. Took me about 5 hours. Thought id look up a speedrun. Realised it coulda been done in the time it takes me to blink apparently. Holy shit man

Was just playing this game on my modded PsVita. Absolutely loved it back then and now. GG Man.

I grew up playing the PC version and always loved Andy's House track more than the N64 version. Excellent run my dude.

I wouldn't be able to tell you. I can't really give an estimate since there's a lot of practice and testing that's time spent not necessarily doing runs.

Bro had to backtrack to Andy’s Neighborhood but managed to complete both Alleys and Gullies and Al’s Toy Barn without the required gadgets in one try 😂😭😭

It's faster to do Andy's Neighborhood with the Rocket Boots even if you have to enter it again. :D

How those the triple jump work in the alley and Al's toy barn work? The one you yoused to get to clown top boss fight and one of the ducks and chickens? I wanted to try it, but I wanted to make sure it's right.

They are not quite triple jumps. They are double jumps followed by a Buffer Jump which allows you to double jump Mid-Air again as if you touched the ground due to landing on a weird collision that we call "Shadow Boxes". Hey Solarson! Can you explain to me why my savefile of this game reads "TOY STORY 2:TOK01:00 1 BLOCK USED" What the hell does ":TOK01:00" mean?? And what does "1 BLOCK USED" mean?? For the record i didnt do anything except beat that race. And im playing the ps1 port on ps4.

TOK means token. The left part represents how many tokens you have. I don’t know about the right part, possibly how many hours you spent.

@@Number1Tailsfan Yeah I already figured it out back then. Pizza Planet Tokens, of which there are 50 (5 per level), so a complete save would say TOK50. The last two digits are simply the number of the savefile. Whenever you make a save or overwrite a save, it's numbered with the lowest number not currently in use.

The sound of Buzz in PC version and PS1 version differs a lot

Many of the changes in N64 ports of games like this are because cartridges had less space than disks. They had to figure out which things to cut or change to make it fit

Why did you unlock the invincibility shield in the first level?

SoB is 44m 55s now. I wouldn't say possible with current strats, every segment is pretty optimized.

Its funny you mainly press x too jump and the left analog stick to guide.... I guess it really is all just falling with style.

How are you firing so fast on slime time

I use Keyboard for mashing. Index & Middle finger on Spacebar and just alternate between them.

@@Solarson See it now. Why did you skip over it initially? It's possible to beat rc without the rocket boots, it's just about 10x harder than in level 1 :)

My least favourite level is Elevator Hop. The best level is all the others 😂😂
