Once a year, Phil leaves his cabin and walks out into the forest at midnight. Techno doesn't question it, not anymore. At first he was worried, but Phil aways leaves exited and comes back with a bittersweet smile on his face, so he leaves it alone. Phil will tell him when he's ready. Phil goes deep into the forest. There, under the light of the full moon, the snow glinting under his feet, he can meet with her again. Once a year for one night, he can be with his goddess. He can fly with her again.

Headcanon: The reason he is able to fly faster is because he spent a lot more time throughout the year, when he can’t see her, practicing and trying to get faster so that he can keep up with her while they go on their little romantic flights

I can't help but imagine Phil flying around all like "hey where's my big wifey?" Then when Mumza flies up behind him; "There she is! :D"

Ok ok headacanon time: since Phil cannot visit his wife in the clouds, she creates the northern lights as a reminder to Phil that she is not leaving and that she remembers him. She mainly uses green bc that’s c!Phil’s favorite color and whenever Phil sees that light display he smiles sadly for he cannot say that he loves her back and hopes that she knows he’s trying his best to return. This also explains why Phil mainly stays in colder regions so he can see the northern lights (this is based on the ending of the video)

I headcanon that Phil spent years collecting the single feather Mumza dropped each year and patiently sewing each feather onto a wire and idk, maybe ghast skin and leather frame, so that maybe, in a thousand years, when everyone is gone and the land has reclaimed the remnants of L'Manberg, Phil can fly with Mumza once again. It makes Techno sad, because while he might be immortal as well, eventually he'll go back to rejoin the piglins, his real tribe. Each day that he sees Phil sew another feather is a day that he hides in his room, wondering how many years he has left in the Overworld

I love how when they’re flying Phil has to flap his wings a lot while Mumza just glides in the air. Very nice detail there! Its like he’s tryna keep up with Mumza. Very nice animation!

damn that had my emotions going on even more of a rollercoaster than Phil was while doing those dips and dives.... Also you asked "Do you want some flying scenes" you said NOTHING about "Hey, do you want some feels to go with that?" *pouts*

What is Phil’s wife hide in the clouds due to her enormous size of her being a goddess of death so the only way for Phil to spend time with his wife and her feel safe is by flying with her above the clouds. He can’t fly because of his wing being burned and broken, so he can’t see his wife!! husband cannot longer see the wife due to the injuries in results of the war!! I WANNA YEET MYSELF INTO THE STRATOSPHERE!! And may I add that the northern lights at the end is mumza’s wings leaving a trail from flight, as a way to leave a path for Phil to follow to find her. phil can also feel her presence if she is close enough.

@@LittleJana honestly in all the fan art i see it looks like his wing’s damage is mostly just scorched feathers. birds molt and regrow feathers every year, but maybe he instead molts every thousand years? but i also found out that plucking a bird’s feathers, as long as they’re not blood/pin feathers (new feathers that are still growing and have blood flow, and if you pulled them the bird could bleed out), would cause new feathers to grow in. and unless the bones were broken, it should be fine. but the idea of him having to wait a really, really long time to be able to see her is strangely wholesome. like imagine him just counting every day until he can see her again.

I recommend checking it out. This is actually just a popular headcannon, but its still amazing! Itll be a bit hard to catch up with the lore seeing as its been going on for longer then a year from multiple povs. So look up video summaries if you wanna catch up. @@milo6301 Imagine, Phil gets into a canon life losing situation but in what would be the after life session (as with foolish) Mumza appears as goddess of death, revives him and even heals his wings so he can fly with her again but still live with their sons.

Okay… I give in, I got to write a story… Phil launch himself into the air. He scanned the horizons for her. He heard wing beats, not his, but the one of his love. The love birds flew together. Phil smiled and the goddess of death smiled. Her wing beats flew in a steady beat. Phil struggle slightly as every time Death flapped her giant wings, the air currents were messed up. They glided around together for a while longer. Once Phil’s wings grew tiered, Mumza carried him in her hands. Phil snapped out of his day dream. He looked around, taking in his surroundings. He was on his and Techno’s porch. Something caught him off guard as he fully woke up. A forest, magical sprouted. “Could it have been… her.” He thought he saw a smaller version of Mumza out of the corner of his eyes. Nothing was there. “Who’s her? You good Phil?” A voice called out. It came from the direction of Techno’s vault. It belong to Ranboo. He must have overheard Phil. He looked curious and slightly worried. “All good,” Phil said. Ranboo started asking even more questions, but Phil didn’t pay attention to his hybrid friend. Instead, he walked through the forest. Ranboo stopped talking and watched his friend enter the strange forest. Phil barely noticed that his friend stopped following him. Phil stood still in a clearing, staring at the northern lights. The wind seemed to whispered “are you coming?” Phil flexed his broken wing. “I wish I could… but I-“ he started. He flapped his burnt, broken, useless wings. He didn’t regret his choice to save his son from the blast of L’Manburg but, oh, did he miss the thrill of flight. “I can’t..” he finished his sentence, flapping his wings once again. He didn’t, couldn’t, launch himself into the air like old times. All his wings did was disturb some leaves and snow. ~Fin. (I kept track, it took me 20 minutes to type this out. 😂 I hoped you liked it. Have a great day!)

Imagine if all the dream smp members have wings, they would be seeing them fly and start joining them and the crows following with philza and mumza too. There are so cute flying together but feel sad that Phil wouldn’t be able to fly again with his wife during the day and night time. This is just so beautiful and very nicely done of the art drawings.

I know they've probably had centuries of practice but I like to imagine Phil sometimes gets too caught up w staring at his wife and accidentally gets caught in the draft her wings make and gets flung

The music was so good with this animation ! It was as if we called Phil to turn himself to look at his true, his light, the sun. We follow them in their journey, pushing them up. To protect them in a way too from the darkness. What a good choice ! Amazing work !

The amount of euphoria when the music builds and changes, and Kristen appears

I love everything about this. The initial reveal of Mumza and how massive she is, the loving flight through the air as we take in why this is happening and the beauty of their relationship and the final flash to the present and reveal of Phil's broken wing and the wave of emotion from the realization that he can see his wife again. It's just-- aaaa so beautifully executed!!

First thing that comes to mind with the size difference and the fact they both have playful personalities is Mumza playfully hitting philza with her wing and he goes ZOOOOOM into the distance from the force HAHAHAHAHA

I've been rewatching this animatic for a year, I'm not even kidding. The emotion and hope and creativity just make the day a little better, and Mumza and Dadza are so amazingly wholesome, thank you again Casserole for this! and RIHANNA? this animatic could not be more perfect.

As he felt the chill of the cloud whip past his wings, he grinned, gliding through the sky. The above always was such a calm escape from the dangers of the land. Up here he felt free. Bro the feelz- I was so ecstatic to see Kristen and Phil, enjoying their flight and having fun- and then the end crushed me.. with Phil’s torn wings and realizing he can’t fly to meet Mumza anymore... sadge

This is absolutley stunning.... I loved Philza's little excited hand waves when Kristin showed up, holding onto her wing, Kristin catching him in her hands, and the absolutle devastation when Phil's alone in the forest. You have such a way of showing emotion through movement, and your song choice always matches with the mood of the animation!

Giving big “ponyo’s parents” vibes. With the normal sized man and the massive goddess of a wife. Both of whom love one another with their entire heart and soul.❤

Phil was so happy, when his wife could fly as freely as he did in the sky before she was sent to the realm of death. Now, she was unable to do such things. But today, he got his first hint that she could still reach him. The most beautiful lights, in the night sky, in his favorite color… (this is a little mini story ig, based of someone’s head cannon)

Damn what a storie Philza minecraft once apon a time fell in love with the giant woman of the sky, then one day, he lost the ability to see her, so he settled for a fucking smart fridge instead

I headcanon that there's actually a picture of Mumza on the smart fridge that c!Philza say's 'Hello Dear/Love' to every morning and that's why c!Wilbur thinks his Mum is a smart fridge 'cause he hasn't seen her in just that long... That or he thinks she can turn into a fridge, and he just excepts that as fact. And the reason c!Philza didn't fly him up to Mumza when he was younger or even just pre-war is because he (c!Wilbur) has a lung condition that only effects him at really high altitudes where Mumza lives... Since she can't come down to the ground he rarely gets to see her in person...

The beginning felt like she was hiding among the clouds from Philza, in a playful way. Then appeared with a laughing smile. I think it cute.

I just have this thought of Phil's crows cawing excitedly and Phil having to calm them down to hear their message and they're just like "mumza's here!" and then he races up into the sky to find her.

i just love the fact that everyone has collectively agreed that mumza is just a giant goddess, it brings me so much joy

i ADORE the fact that philzas wife has an accepted design as the goddess of death

I think you’ve got this whole thing with Phil and animals/people much bigger than him. I love it.

I absolutely adore this. The animation is so good. The flying looks legitimately realistic. The way Philza needs to beat his wings way more frequently than Mumza. The size difference. Every single bit is so good.

Okay screw it- have this thing--- Kristen isn't dead. She's just waiting in the skies for her love to return and soar with her. To sleep on the fluffy clouds and race to the nearest star, she does it all alone while weeping her tears of thunder and death. She stays high in the sky, higher then the stars themselves for she is too scared that if she goes down she will be lost and never find her crow. He longs for his mistresses of death more then can be spoken in words, but alas the little crow has lost his wings. Therefore can no longer soar in the skies with his love, tethered to the ground and no longer able to sing with the wind and grab hold of the stars. He climbs the highest peaks screaming "I am here my love! Down below your beauty and domain I lie awaiting you! Please hear my pleas and come get me, so that I can soar the skies and dance among the clouds with you!" But of course, his love could not hear him. For her tears blocked out all noise but of her own pleas that to be with him again.
