I have had one for 3 years now. Absolutely love it had no trouble and it gets a lot of play but I do treat it well keep it clean greased and indoors for storage.very well worth the price . I got 3 buckets for it .the quality of buckets is good and they perform great .

Will be picking up a used one this Friday,look forward to play with it

I bought my Jansen in 9-19. It was in preference to the HF. I was at a farm sale in the country and both were being sold. Both used, and in about the same condition. I ( and about 10 others) got to "drive" each machine. The Jansen was the beefier machine and everything moved a lot faster. It also "walked" easier and turned sharper. It just had thicker metal on the really critical places. The one thing better on the HF was the swing cylinder was better protected. After mulling for several months I ordered a new machine. More expensive. No regrets.

Glad I could help. Honestly a lot of it is me still learning the machine. It seems to get most jobs done, just takes a little while sometimes. But it definitely beats the shovel and pick axe haha.

I'll still buy one though. As you said, beats a pick and shovel! I'll have to get something bigger for the larger projects. I'll be watching as you post more on the towable backhoe and homesteading. We're homesteaders too.

I had one of these about a year ago (even made a video about it), but i decided to sell mine after getting a tracked excavator, the difference is just wow much. Still this thing is handy as hell, can just hook it up to a atv and your off digging into wherever u want. (kinda dissapointed that i sold mine now, meh i miss it)

@ Ants Pants almost the same story here. I think I might sell my excavator and get one of these or buy the backhoe for my compact tractor. The problem with owning an excavator is everyone who ever knew you suddenly wants to be your friend and borrow it.... Nobody wants to borrow one of these for more than an hour before they decide to bring it back. Not so with an excavator. I have had to go and pick my excavator back up because people don't return it right away. Makes lots of problems.

@@ifyoutip i hear you. But from I'm from luckly you need special licenses to tow anything heavier then 1ton really and also a special trailer. So if some1 asks to borrow mine i just say i dont have a trailer to transport it 😆

@@Ants_Pants I see. That is interesting. I think my little excavator weighs around 4 ton. One nice thing with an excavator over a trencher is that I can load stuff up on a taller truck or trailer and stuff . But I do mostly use it for trenching. And for trenching only, these little towable trenchers do well. It's just everyone tries to use them for everything else. That's what a excavator is for.

I ordered this machine back in May, waiting for mine to come in. How you liking it?

oh nice, the wait is the worst part haha. There is a little bit of a learning curve if you haven't used these before. Not so much the controls but more when to curl the bucket for the most power. But so far I love it, beats a shovel lol.

some kind of brakes on the wheels would help, or hydraulic out riggers on the back...

Did you get the part from Jansen yet? If so was it the whole valve assembly or just a valve spool? I have a similar problem with my backhoe but my dealer can't sell me a spool. Mine is not a Jansen but Kellfri, but it is the same machine. Greetings from Sweden.

What does one of these cost. For what it is it still better then a shovel. And looks like it would be fun to play with. Looks like it's easy to move around.

Yeah I love it. Obviously a big machine would work better, but I can crawl this thing into some crazy spots. It was about $3500. I tried doing a trench with a pick and shovel, screw that haha

Have u been on a Harbor freight model? I'm curious how much stronger the Jansen is?

Hi thanks for watching. I personally have not used the harbor freight one, but from what I've seen the metal is a little thinner. I personally went with this one instead because it seemed more heavy duty, the boom movement is further (130° vs 60° with the HF), faster, and I wanted the extra buckets. So far I'm very happy I went with this one.

Your not digging right, you should be working your way down , not starting at the bottom of your hole and trying to pull up 3 buckets at a time , would of been more powerful and much faster. But live and learn
