I've been subbed to you since my sophomore year of hs when you went to ksu and now I'm going into my senior year. Just got a car that has to be paid off, I know college is coming up and I know I'm gonna have to pay some out of pocket, but then seeing living situations in downtown is stressing me out lol. UGHH CAPITALISM! So I stress about it one night a week but Ik things will work out in the end. I also hope you settle in well to whichever apartment you choose, and enjoy your senior year of college!

hi! my best advice would be to save as much money as you can (at least 3 months rent, if possible) before you move in and to have a guarantor b/c you most likely will not have the income/credit to be approved for an apartment.

I love this video Im going to apply to Georgia state and I'm thinking about living off campus an a apartment so this helps so much! Do you think I should live on campus or off campus? The reason why I don't want to live in a dorm is I don't want to have a person who doesn't want to help out or just be clean in general. And when the holidays come you have to get out your dorm ( A least that's what I heard). If I get an apartment I can stay their whenever I want and I don't really worry about other people. Im scared that if I don't get a dorm I won't live the college dream or miss out on things like how people can walk out of their dorm and eat lunch with their friends. Or just walk to classes. Please help me!! (lol).

hey Barb, im sorry for the late reply! honestly, living off campus or in the dorms is a tricky thing to decide. i'm not the biggest fans of gsu dorms because for a lot of them you have to share something (room or a bathroom). i do believe there are some 1 bedroom/1 bathroom options though. also, i never lived on campus at gsu but i know at ksu you didnt have to leave out during holidays. i would think that during holidays you wouldn't have to leave your dorm at gsu either. getting a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment is extremely expensive, especially in atlanta, so with student apartments you'd probably still be sharing a kitchen and common area with other people. choosing between the two really depends on your budget. if its your first year, i would try living on campus just to have the full college experience, because it's really nothing like being in walking distance to campus. also, if you live on campus you can gain friendships easier and then see if you'd like to move to an off-campus apartment with people you meet there. that's a better transition than to jump into off-campus housing w/ complete strangers. i hope that helps, and again I'm sorry for the late reply. if i can help with anything else lmk! 💗

hey!! coming from someone who lives in the dorms and plans to live in on campus apartments next year- i live in the commons, it's 4 bed 2 bath. i have my own room and share a bathroom with 1 person, and a kitchen with everyone, but it's honestly not too bad especially since you can pick roommates based on their preferences on my college roomie! there's a lot of storage space, free laundry, and a study room on each floor. also you get access to all the other university housing buildings with your access card. i'd say the dorms are ultimately more convenient bc you have the option to pay upfront and you don't have to worry about renter's insurance along with paying for wifi and appliances, and you're a 10-15 minute walk from campus, and the peechtree and georgia state MARTA stations. also i was worried about my RA being super strict about smoking, drinking, etc. but honestly it's been super chill as long as we aren't too loud! but i'm looking at on campus apartments for next year because i'm sick of checking in guests, not being able to open my window, etc etc. my budget is 700-800 and i'm trying to find somewhere close to campus or near a marta station, so far i've toured City Plaza apartments (10-15 min walk from campus) which is around 800 per person and seems really promising with a cute lil courtyard! my roommate and i are going apartment hunting tomorrow and hopefully i'll upload a video soon about other on campus apartment options :) all i know to steer clear from is the mix and 112 courtland!! hopefully this helps a little bit lol

Honestly everything is so high you won’t be able to find anything in that price range with student housing but can if you and someone else find an affordable regular apartment to split the rent then maybe but you would be in a very unsafe area(hood) or you can find a nice apartment and that will range from $1000-1100 for each of you

for a 4x4, the prices per unit were -Catalyst: around $950/month when I toured, now it’s $1019+ -Westmar: $825+ -The Mix: around $1050/month when I toured, now $1065+ ultimately, the best advice I can give is to save as much money as you can and to have help from parents/family. when I move into an apartment I’ll do a more in-depth video
