A group of individuals from across the UK joined Hadhrat Mufti Ibrahim Raja Sahib for a tour around Uzbekistan visiting the blessed cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Tirmiz, and Tashkent.
A bit about Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is a double-landlocked country. It is one of 45 land-locked countries in the world, it is placed between Kazakhstan to the north, Kyrgyzstan to the northeast, Tajikistan to the southeast, Afghanistan to the south, and Turkmenistan to the southwest. It is also one of only two double-landlocked nations in the world meaning that each of its neighboring countries is also landlocked. So, to reach the coastline from Uzbekistan, you will need to cross at least two countries. Liechtenstein is the only other double-landlocked country.
Uzbekistan is also part of lands termed ‘maa waraa un nahr’ (what is beyond the river). This term is heard by students of fiqh a lot while studying and it was the land where many Hanafi scholars lived.
