@@richardnoel3141 there is a funny story behind that. I always thought it smelled a bit like a chlorine swimming pool until a friend suggested someone told him it smelled like semen to which he said he could not disagree! To which I also said I could not disagree!

We call it the harry monk tree here in Sussex😊
How many hives per hectare buckwheat Richard? Are you there for pollination contracts and or honey production?
@richardnoel3141

Hi Dan, it’s difficult to say because I don’t have the exact field sizes but about 3/4 per hectare. They need good wet soil if you expect a high yield but you usually do ok Yes it’s free pollination if I get the nectar

Ok, you said 5 hives per hectare near end of video

1 hectare is 2.5 acres, so 1-2 hives per acre. I hear almonds is 2 hives per acre in Ca. Makes sense.

@@danphillips4590 it’s entirely up to you, better to have less hives with a better yield than too many with small amounts of honey.

For OSR, beans and borage we site 1 per acre for pollination, 1 per hectare for honey.
Yeah rub it in with the chestnut for the American viewers
Buckwheat like wet and not hot weather.... slavic people like it taste, others hate its smell.
Can you get a premium for buckwheat honey? You should get a nice haul.
