Tour my Friend Tom’s Urban Garden Sanctuary
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Don't miss this gorgeous garden tour! Get lots of design ideas and new plant ideas from my friend Tom's Zone 4 urban garden. Filmed over the course of spring, summer and fall, you'll get a tour of a shade garden, rain garden, waterfall and pond garden, and a lovely, formal vegetable garden. The overall garden area, approximately 1/3 of an acre, flows easily from one section to the next. Natural stone hardscape and many plantings are repeated throughout the entire garden, thereby creating a unified and cohesive feel.

I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour of Tom‘s garden. It is one of my favorite gardens.
There is a blue Amsonia in our area that is striking when it blooms. I've been driving by it for 4 years wondering what on earth that beautiful blue flowering shrub was. Thanks to this tour at Tom's garden , I finally got my answer! And it's deer resistant!! Yay! I have meadow deer that stroll through my yard and gardens every single night! Now the challenge will be to source a Blue Amsonia (locally) for my garden! I'll keep you posted! Loved this tour and all the info! ~Stephanie NJ zone 7a

There were so many excellent suggestions and choices-a delicious smorgasbord. And yes, that vegetable garden is the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen. As nice as Linda Vater’s potager!

Will you be posting a spring tour of your own garden? Thanks to you, I gave calla lilies a try. I started them indoors, and I will be hardening them off this week and next. I am in zone 4a and my first tulip opened this morning. 🌷

I'm so excited to hear about your Calla Lilies. I hope you'll love them! As for a spring garden tour, the best can offer is the one I did last May. It's really quite lovely if you haven't seen it. Here's a link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qoCVzZuFZNfRado.html
I appreciate the time, dedication and effort you place on these videos. I've learned so much. Can you pretty please share some insight on what your garden looks like from inside your home. I'm having a really hard time figuring out what to do with that space. Can I pay for a bit of your time and insight?
@RosannesGarden
Жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you are enjoying my channel and that you feel you've learned a lot :-) If you're talking about the view of our garden from our house, the first 18 seconds of this video comes pretty close kzread.info/dash/bejne/n616zJSKpsfMito.html. It's taken from a small deck on the back of our house. If your'e talking about the view from Tom's house, it's quite spectacular and overlooks the shade garden. As far as consulting and as much as I'd like to help, I will need to decline. But, my secret ingredients to a good landscape plan always include natural stone hardscape for permanent structure and order, and lots of layers of plants, including ornamental and shade trees. Sorry I can't be of more help! All the best!

Could you possibly tell me how tall you think Irish Moss would grow during summer in Maryland zone 7B with full sunlight exposure from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.?

That seems like a lot of sun; it will need regular watering. As far as the height, it stays short for me (about a half of an inch to an inch max). I can't imagine it would grow any taller in any conditions.
