As good a sprinter Cippo was he was never even close to a green jersey because he could´nt make it to Paris.Most years he did´nt even bother starting the first mountain stage of the race :-D

Just like to say Gary Imlach is a great presenter and anchorman for ITV 4 - BUT I'm boycotting their coverage of Le Tour 2017 because of the disgraceful and illogical decision to sack Phil Ligget and Paul Sherwen. SHAME ON YOU ITV4! !!! Will watch Eurosport instead in protest and I urge all others that are able to do so!

Actually... if you look at it technically Cavendish isn't British, he's Manx. Isle of Man has 19 stage wins, all won by the same guy. (And I have a feeling it'll be 20 when this Tour is over.)

I'm surprised this sport is still credible after all this. I still watch the tour every year but the amount of drug cheats involved is staggering, I don't think their are many competitors in the last 40 years who haven't broken the rules.

I share your point of view but generalizing is a mistake. There are clean guys like Quintana, Bardet, Sicard, Ellisonde, Dumoulin, Chaves, Ewan, Matthews, Yates Bros, Talanski, VanGardener and more that I miss at this moment. On the other hand, there is crap like Froome, Contador, Nibali, Aru, (Astana Vinokurov & Martinelli) Valverde, J.Acevedo and his Katusha team and many more who deserve to be abused & insulted on the road.

This shows how low the sport had fallen and then was brought back to its greatest popularity by Lance Armstrong who never flunked a drug test while winning his 7 championships. WNL( within normal limits) All his doping was done WNL for that time . Yet he is banned while Contandor and other riders who failed drug tests are heroes. Look up the word Hypocrite in a search engine and there are the French , front and center.
