Well, I hate to say but I’m an architectural/design snob. I built houses for 34 years in downtown Atlanta. I believe 90% of architects should find another occupation, 5% of architects are good and the last 5% of architects are great. Y’all can go ahead and beat me up about this and that’s OK with me. There’s a lot of really bad architecture out there. I rarely comment on anything but you did a fantastic job on this house. What are my credentials? Well, that’s debatable. You really did a great job. What a joy to see. Such a beautiful home. Thanks for sharing.

@@HandmadeHouseswithNoahBradley I have a question: I’ve always believed tongue and grooved porch flooring would be historically run perpendicular to the house. Allowing the water to run off better and if it had a wrap around porch there’d be a 45° joint as it turned. Of course, at that point the porch structure would start a slope in that direction needing a good knowledgeable carpenter. The joist on that 45° would be similar to a hip rafter. Hope that makes sense 🤔 I’m starting to believe it must’ve been installed both ways. The blue on the ceiling is a great historic detail. Looks great. I won’t be bothering you here but this is what you get for doing such a good job lol Just this one question. If you have time, your thoughts on the floor? Thx so much

For the most part, architects are unapproacable. No functional solutions for keeping buildings of yesterday. It's all cranes, and massive renovations and impossible procedures that have little meaning and affordability for most people. I don't understand what you're saying. Happy for your reno.

Yes a wonderful quaint cabin. My thoughts as someone who loved to remodel and I am a seamstress and I would comment about the white used on ceilings . It’s not a warm white but a cold white . There are so many shades of white and I would suggest a white with a yellow undertone to feel warmer with the wood. I love history and it’s a pleasure to see you up-cycling wood etc from other homes in decay and gave the pieces the gift of life again .

I did 18th Century restoration work and I found it challenging. It's good to see true craftsmanship with your homes you've done. Working on historical buildings and replicating history has a way of telling a terrific story for the people who want simplicity in their life. There's a special factor of appreciation that is unparalleled. Fantastic work you do! 🧐🌲👍

My question is are you using any modern building materials? For example the flashing on the chimney to make it watertight, are you using modern glues and chemistry? Or are you using some type of old-fashioned pine tar residue or what? Are you using modern concrete to anchor the beams into the ground? Etc. etc. are you subject to any modern government enforced building codes? Making it impossible to truly build a traditional house? Also are you incorporating any traditional Japanese techniques such as burning the wood to preserve etc. etc.

The growing of the first buidling into 2 more was very nice managed. It looks like a "irisch german home" a style mix very colour and history full. The lightning protection is a typical german sign! I love this combo. Its not big but fine. Its no loud but warm. Its not overlouded but touchi. The quality is very good the character speaks books. Did I understand it right? that they sold it or they planed to sell it? I would think that this real estate could be between 1-2 million US $ depend on how big the farmland is. Do you know how much I have to pay and as the Lord to provide me with that money?
