We listened to this performance in a college music class and I found myself unable to think about anything else for the rest of the day. I just had to come back to hear it again. What a beautiful performance by two incredibly gifted players, showcasing such a unique and melodic instrument! I can see why this was considered appropriate music to be played for kings historically - it certainly makes me feel transported back in time!

I’m a French Metalhead who decided a long time ago that if you love music and take it as a way to communicate with the world, you have to embrace the whole Music forms, rythms, instrument, languages, dances…everything. Let it go and vibrate in your body and soul and share it to the world. Music is an universal language! Now we have the possibility to listen to music from all around the globe and pass it on to our children. This piece of Malian legacy is one of the lot of music I encourage my daughter to listen to, and feel it. I’m proud of that!

We listened to this performance in a college music class and I found myself unable to think about anything else for the rest of the day. I just had to come back to hear it again. What a beautiful performance by two incredibly gifted players, showcasing such a unique and melodic instrument!
