Yes. Koishi chose to permanently shut her 3rd eye, but in exchange she lost the ability to feel emotions and care about anything. She still has the ability to control the subconscious but her own conscious part of her is almost no existent so she wonders around aimlessly and that's how how she encounters Reimu in the extra stage. After she is defeated by Reimu she claims that she felt something again after a long time.

If I heard of her situation I'd try to befriend her because having no friends whatsoever sucks. My strategy for this would consist of just kinda coming clean right away; If I've already told her everything on my own terms, I'd have no reason to fear her. After this I'd probably ask her what she thinks of me. Anyways unless she actively tried to destroy my life with the knowledge I wouldn't hate her for having it. she has it, she hasn't used it maliciously; so be it. Basically, come clean on your own terms, removing any reason to fear her, let her have the knowledge, and see if there's ACTUALLY a reason to hate her. If she ends up being a terrible person to those she meets, then she doesn't deserve friends now does she? And heck, even if she does end up disliking me I'd still be a person who doesn't fear her, nor hate her. if she knew e v e r y t h i n g and disliked me that's be perfectly justified. If I approached her I would have come to terms with the fact that she'll know everything about me, and thus, I'd have no reason to fear her. I don't care if you have my information as long as you don't use it maliciously. If I don't fear or hate her, a friendship could form. Luckily I don't care what other people think about me so I'd be fine with taking this risk. My morals are "yeah, she's a mind reader, but is she actually a terrible person who you can't be friends with?" Why the hell did I just type an essay of what I would do if I were a former hell resident that heard about Satori?

I never expected Satori's lines to get so intense. I don't think it's TOO dramatic, honestly. I imagine the more intense singing portions as her screaming in her head (if she, publicly, expressed the emotions she feels because she has to deal with reading everyone's minds, she'd just have even more problems and feedback loops to deal with.)

No, sleeping all day is not as good as you may think. It is torture at some points, where you start to think that you should be doing more productive in your life for it could end at any time so you would at least be remembered and not forgotten so easily. You then start thinking on random stuff, then eventually reach the point of contemplating your existence, contemplating the existence of the universe, thinking about ending it all ri..... woah woah, that's way too far. Basically, sleeping all day is not an eternal pleasure. Almost forgot to mention the possibility of nightmares and sleep paralysis, plus you might develop apathy but there is only a slim chance Trust me, I've done it before, don't intend on doing it again.

I don't know, Satori did at one point see enough of a reason to pack everything up with Koishi and hide underground, even beneath the current location of Former Hell. It's rather likely that dealing with everyone else's internal crap and prejudice would have played a factor. Kinda like Seto in the Kagerou Project running miles into a forest because he didn't like all the mental "noise" he kept hearing and just wanted it to shut up for a bit. XD

Yes, it was supposed to be~! ^^ A person's mind is a lot like the box, as all their evil thoughts rush easily out... but Satori's "last hope" to see something beautiful remains locked up deep inside, needing to be unlocked through hypnosis. The tale of Pandora's Box was also a warning against curiosity, linking to the line where Satori warns that "wishing to be closer" can be dangerous. Thanks for noticing that~.

Uh, that's the exact my view of Satori, I even wonder if you have read my mind. =) I always thought that her whole life is a great tragic performance, where she is doomed to hear all these voices of hatred and contempt, and try to run away from all this, sometimes desperately trying to break her eternal self-isolation in a vain hope she be loved and respected for even a moment. And this song is the exact representation of what I feel.

“To keep my mind preoccupied with memories of beauty All my life in a palace of self containment” those lines are amazing, they flow so great with the song, I just love your lyrics!

I wouldn't really mind if Satori read my mind. There is nothing in there but random thoughts of what I see like, "There is ant crawling on the floor. Whats that on it's back? No idea but I better pay attention. *emptiness for a few seconds* Where is my pencil? It was just in my hand but... oh there it is! it's still in my hand, hah would you look at that? *more blankness* How does 10+9=21? maybe I can make that work hmm lets see. if I switch the 1 and the 9 then I get 90+1=21 so that would be 91 and then I would do 21 +9+10=40 so then 90-40=50 and since it is still 90+1=21 then I would subtract 1 from both sides and get 90=20 which is 110 and now 110-50=60 and since there are 3 numbers in the equation 10+9=21 we now divide 60 by 3 and get 20, and since there is only 1 number on the right side, which is always the positive side of the number line, we would add 1 to 20 and get... 21! Cirno was never a ⑨ in the first place! She was just too smart for everyone else to comprehend". And other thoughts...

For some reasons koishi and satori are the most tragic backstories in Touhou and they suffered a lot especially koishi. I hope one day I would do a favor for them that relieves their pain. At least I want is to give them a packet of colorful flowers and hearts.

In Greek mythology the opening of Pandora's box brought death and disease to mankind. The only good thing that was left in there was hope. The tale of Pandora's box warns about dangerous curiosity, which is kinda indirectly mentioned in the "wishing to be closer, we stray too close in the end" line. So I guess that is clear.

As someone with intrusive thoughts issues, I relate a lot with Satori. Lyrics on this one are great, it really depicts how hard is it to have unwanted things in your mind constantly without a break.

*+Nefer007* Well, the Saigyou Ayakashi is about as close to a Lovecraftian abomination as you can get in Touhou, but while it eats souls and basically mind wipes people with its beauty, I dunno if I'd say it's evil. Immensly dangerous to all life? Sure, but evil? I don't even know if it's _conscious._ Kaku Seiga, however, now there's an evil character. The clue is in how she styles some of her Spell Cards with denominations like "Evil Sign" and "Demonify"... Plus, she engages in some of the most hilariously over-the-top evil sorcery I've ever read about. (Talking about her Yang Xiaogui, which, for those who don't know, is a Chinese sorcery that enslaves evil spirits by using them to reanimate a dead foetus.) As for Junko, I personally consider her more tragic than evil. I mean, she literally lost everyone she loved, to the extent that she apparently considered vengeance to be the only thing she had left to live for (as evidenced by the fact that she was willing to purge herself of everything she was aside from the emotion that would keep her revenge going). Aaand about that Fortune Teller... he wasn't really any more or less evil than any other youkai in Gensoukyou... Hell, he was even planning on moving far away from the human village so that he wouldn't disturb anyone... Unfortunately, he represented a threat to Gensoukyou's stability and, much like a rabid dog, (which are also not evil, but are certainly a danger to everyone else,) had to be put down. Seija is just a bad girl, though. Not necessarily "evil" but definitely a bad girl. Which, by amanojaku standards, means that she's a good girl.
