Crafsman is possibly the best ASMR content on KZread, it's so relaxing to listen to him explaining things. To me, one of the more important things was seeing that PU resin takes acrylic paint quite well, so it might be worth experimenting on for my projects.

I love this guy!! Great vid!! Your work is of such a high standard:) In case you did not know (I worked in a polyurethane casting company for a while), the material changes its properties over time. You may see it getting stronger or harder or less flexible after only a few weeks. So if you are inclined to experiment, revisit your work after a month or two to check you are still happy with the result. This also explains why a fresh pour will not perfectly replicate the behaviour of a forty year old piece (although I was very impressed that you managed to do it). A further experiment might be to try out UV inhibitors, to regulate the flexibility and strength which is affected by UV, and which will maintain the colour, which often yellows. One final tip, you can machine polyurethane but it prefers to be cut rather than abraded (i.e. a blade rather than sanding), as the abrasion builds up heat and turns the PU into spider webs!

The Shore scale is also how urethane skateboard/longboard wheels are measured in terms of hardness. If you're riding on something really smooth like glassy-finish concrete then a 99d is often what you'll be looking for in terms of wheels. However, on rough pavement or unsealed roads (or regular side-walk concrete) you'd get way too much rattling so you'd be more likely to go for a 65a-82a . I've never thought of action figures in terms of durometer before but this was really interesting. It also effects how much you can grip the pavement and slide/drift around corners at high speeds, but I guess you're probably not going to be strapping action figures to your feet and sliding on them....
