My mother told me about periods in grade 5 and I got it in 7th grade.. so I was just doing by business in the bathroom when I noticed a brown stain in my pants. I was like wtf is that? But then I remembered that maybe it was my period starting so I waited till it was evening to confirm and then told my mom about it. My mom explained how to use a pad and how to dispose it. And here I am, having the most normal first period experience ever.

Before I got mine , Our school had set up an organisation for all the girls of 6-7th grade in the school hall. They called in a female docter and told all male staff to go. They explained to us what periods were and how our body will begin to change and how the first few months might be irregular. They explained each thing in detail with diagrams which helped alot. Days after the organisation I got my first period , I told my mother and was very thankful for the school! P.S: I got my period at 3:00 am shld I be concerned lol😂

I like the way my parents handled periods. She never hid the fact it happened to her, when it does, my dad would ask my brother to help out❤ and then at seven (for the girls) my mom told us into detail what to do when it will happen, we were PREPARED. Maybe it's over-preparing but i still think it's better than not knowing anything. Ps: she would also tell us ''now... You are a WOMAN"

THIS IS WHY PERIODS NEED TO BE NORMALISED BY PARENTS TALKING OPENLY AND EDUCATING THEIR KIDS! Too many kids get their period and don’t know what it is and think something is seriously wrong with them. That burden of worry and stress can be easily prevented by EDUCATION. We need to de-stigmatise periods and get rid of the embarrassment and shame surrounding them and the only way to do this is if everyone starts having open conversations with everyone (kids, co-workers, partners, parents, peers, teachers, coaches) about periods. Thanks for reading my rant 🤣😘🩸

When I got my first period it was during the summer. My grandma had volunteered my sisters and I to help make jelly for a fundraiser. I was of course the one steering the jelly. I noticed a dark red stain on my denim shorts and, of course, went to my grandma. She thought it was jelly and said I would be fine. I whispered, “That’s not jelly.” She took me to the bathroom and told me to check. She then took me back to her house. I changed into some black jeans and she showed me how to use a pad. The most embarrassing part was how she called every female in our family and told them the same story.

When I got my first period I screamed my lungs out so my mom helped me and than she had to leave to her house 💀 and I was at my dads than I leaked all over the bed and my dad woke up and saw it and I was crying and I was like 10 so my dad hugged me and said “don’t worry go change and clean up I’ll clean up the bed” so I did that and later my dad took care of me and got me food :)

Omg when I first got my period, I got it a bit late, so the blood was brown. I didn't know it was supposed to be brown so I just thought it was poop that I hadn't wiped off all the way. The next day, there was still more brown blood, so i thought it was poop so I started doing research. And ofc, google told me I had colon cancer. So of course, me being the idiot I am, believed google and i thought I had cancer because I was "leaking poop" for the next few days, I just put toilet paper in my underwear so that it wouldn't stain. After about 4 days, I started seeing red blood, and then realized that the entire thing was just my period

I got my first period in the end of sixth grade. I had already known what it was and my doctor said it should be coming soon so every time I felt something I was scared. It was a normal day and I don’t really use the bathroom in school so I didn’t go at all that day. My cousin went to the same school and we had to bring her home with us. I had to use the bathroom so I left my room and went to the bathroom. Then I noticed Thai red ish brown stuff in my underwear. I was scared it was my period and went outside to tell my mom. It didn’t bleed through my pants thank god (even tho I was wearing black leggings). She then went to the store and got a bunch of pads but I was scared and started crying. The next day I went to school not knowing what to do I was embarrassed and my stomach hurt a lot. The rest of the week I went home early. My period didn’t come for a month so in ten summer I didn’t really have it. Now I’m not embarrassed and I’m not scared to change my pad and I push through the day with cramps

When I had my first period I also had my first existential crisis at 8. I started believing that this means I will be sick and wasting my life by having a period because i was throwing up all day. It was BAD. I went to my mom crying, she said having these existential crisis is normal.

Parents should teach their kids about this . Imagine just randomly starting bleeding and not knowing what to do..

Mine was - takes nap in brand new white pants - - gets up - “Ew why am I wet” - goes to bathroom - - sees brown blood everywhere- -texts mom - “Mom! I think I pooped my pants!! Help” - Me freaking out to my dad to bring me back to my moms house - - running to the bathroom and freaking out - - my mom explaining it’s my period- “oh.” The white pants were saved after 4 hours of hand washing

My first period happened during church, freaked the shit outta me

My cousin was playing the audio "PERIOD EH PERIOD AHH" when he realized i got my first period and wanted to cheer me up 💀🖐

My reaction to my first period was "oh ok "

When I got mine I didn't tell anyone for two months...😂

I was in 4th grade and I was 9 turning 10. I woke up one morning thinking nothing of it. I was mid brushing my teeth when my mum came and asked "baby are you ok?". I was confused and said "yes...why?". She said why my pants were all bloody and they literally were. It was this massive stain that had gotten on. I started crying cuz I didn't know what to do. I skipped school that day. My first period was August the 1st.

I got mine at the beginning of 9th grade which is this year during the school tour

Luckily for me i was at home with my mom

When I got my first period i was legit like “Oh, okay, I see how it is-“

I was at the airport to get my aunt at my first period I knew what they were and then the flight got delayed of course we waited there for like an hour and then it took them another hour to get out of the gate and the checking area and I was the whole time sitting at the chair while my cousin and laughing at me and saying u will have a memorable first period

i got mine in 7th grade but i was lucky coz i hadn't left home yet and went to the toilet but sad thing was we had a day camp after that so that was just great

I remember when i had my first period, I was going out to the mall with my dad. Just using the bathroom - then bam. Blood. I was weirdly excited because I knew I was reaching teenage years. *God was I wrong about being excited*

This is why I’m so thankful they have pads and tampons in the girls bathroom

I got my first in school too, there was a huge party for founders day and everyone was looking amazing and then I went to the bathroom and it happened. I told a teacher and she helped me through it. Then I just sat in class when everyone was dancing and they kept asking me why I'm not joining them, I told the girls and my boy best friends and no one else but it was an ok day as I didn't go through as much trouble as you. I came home and saw my dad and told him and he was the most comforting person ever and then when my mom came home she made pizza at home and ordered a red cake for me the next day. I just felt so happy to have such amazing parents, teachers and friends. If your a girl on her period don't say things like "oh no" because there are people going through worse who can't get pads bcs they don't have money and all that so be happy you can and take care of yourself.

When i was in 6th grade, we had to go to school at 7 in the morning. That one day i wasn't able to wake up on time and had to go without taking a shower. I bled the entire day in school, was my first period ever, which is why i didn't even realise. I came home to take a shower and saw the bloody pants and decided to hide it from my mom cuz i was scared. I had no idea what periods were. My mom saw my slacks were soaked with blood💀 they were black with thick material so it wasn't visible. I got so much scolding. Sooo glad that i didn't get a leak😅😪

@@duckyduck6563 my mum and her sisters had their periods when they turned 14-15. She told me that she didn't expect me to get them until that age too. I got it at 12 tho. Which is why she didn't explain that early. She got mad because i decided to hide it😅 she wasn't harsh on me, she just scolded me saying that i should have told her on time or it could have been really embarassing for me

When I got to the bathroom and sat down, my undies were covered in blood, and I started crying and I ran to my mom and said “I think I started my period!” And she gave me pads and it took her so long to calm me down because I wasn’t ready to become a woman. The next week in school was rough 😅

Up until today, I was begging for my first period. This morning, my wish came true, and I deeply regret it.

I’ve only had my period for a few months but honestly my cramps aren’t too bad thank god and one time I actually caught it (iykyk) 😅

I'm so blessed that I knew what periods were even before mine started, my mom taught me and now I'm kind of professional at putting on !PADS! I only use pads and not any other product since its way more comfortable for me?

thankfully, when i got my first period, i was going to the bathroom and i saw a tiny little brown stain on my underwear and i knew immediately that i had my period. i had to learn how to put a tampon in for the first time and it was VERY hard to do.

When i got my first period, I was lying in my bed, recently i saw a yt vid about a dude who crapped out his organs and died, i thought i peed my pants while i was in bed (my first period was heavy) and I immediately got up and ran to the bathroom, saw the blood, and thought i crapped out my organs..

When i got my first period ,my parents treat me special even I told to my brother 😂

I legit just got that talk at school I am traumatized the boys at my school were NOT helping 💀

My mom didn’t tell me it would happen either but i read about it so because we didn’t ever talk about it I thought it was shameful and didn’t tell her. I stole some pads from her and figured it out. She’s very religious and strict and I think she has low support needs asd so she really didn’t prepare me for a lot of stuff but I was lucky to have friends willing to tell me their experiences and I read everything I could get my hands on. So that stuff like this didn’t happen to me again. If it’s any consolation to this girl I also bled through in class. It didn’t run down my leg and I was able to hide it by wrapping a jacket around my waist. I tried to stay in class but I was freaking out about having a giant blood stain and finally told my teacher who had me go to the clinic where the nurse helped me with a bigger pad and a pair of pants. She also calmed me down because I started bawling as soon as I told her. So that was the day I learned that the world is full of women who all get what it’s like to bleed through and they are there to help you! So moms! Please talk to your kids about what will happen to their changing bodies as they grow so they aren’t caught off guard! For girls have a little backpack kit with supplies and extra undies (bonus points for period underwear) and some supplies like deodorant and spray for smelly parts for all preteens. Maybe even throw in some mints or other comfort items. Make sure you sign off on them being able to get midol from the nurse and drop some off there when you bring in school supplies. Remember some kids get it when they are as young as 9!

I see everyone talking about, how the first time they got their period they were freaking out and didn't know it was, so I'm going to tell the little story too: I had no problem. Really nothing. First, because we had the right to an explanation of puberty one day when we were in primary school. Second, my sister had already had hers, so I knew what to expect. Third, I didn't have any stomach cramps, so the only thing I had to get used to was the smell. Literally, the first time I got them, I stood up in my room and said, " *sigh*, it's starting for me." I think my mother did not understand my reaction

When I first got mine, I asked my mom if it’s possible to pee out kool-Aid 🤣 Edit: okay maybe I needs to explain 🤣. So I kept asking my mom to get kool aid and she kept getting for me because I was getting dehydrated. So I drake a lot of it. I sat down right before bed to use the bathroom and on the toilet paper it looked like someone put kool aid on the toilet paper to me 🤣🤣 And also thank you for the reply’s 🤣
