Thank You again Fix it Rick, I sent the first one back and put the second one in, in about 20 minutes. And it works. I may have left some protective film on the sides the first time or it was defective. All fixed for about 29 dollars.

Dude I accidentally let go at the step on 1:07 and it was a whole b*tch getting the screws back into place. Luckily, I was able to apply the new screen successfully. Thank you for this tutorial.

Thank you so much. I didn`t need to replace the anything. I imagine most just need to clean the screens, to rid them of all of that gooey glue and replace them. One tip, If I may. Instead of using alcohol, simply apply "peanut butter" to the glue, wait 2 minutes and simply scrape the residue off with a butter or steak knife (with the intentions of not scratching the glass), then dishwashing liquid, then alcohol, or glass cleaner to finish up (that whole process will take minutes, not hours.

What size is the screen in inches and could it work for a Subaru 8” in a 2019 legacy?

I have an early 2012 Chrysler 300. I bought a 8.4 touch screen of a 2013 and when I plug it in it’s just black. Would replacing the screen be okay ? Any programing ?

Did it but it has like little bubbles inside, for now is working fine but i am not sure if its gonna last. i think the hardest part is removing the glue, did it with the razor but it doesnt go that easily

Does this work with older models such as 2014? I know the uconnects are different but is it pretty much the same ordeal?

Will this help with anti glare coating issues ? I have a 19 300s so anti glare coating is rubbing off in certain areas

Yes. The anti glare coating beginning to disintegrate is an indication the whole digitizer is failing, so it's time to replace it.

Mine is randomly clicking , like touch still works but it still has that seperation that looked similar in this video - is the digitizer starting to seperate the likely culprit of this ?

Maybe my car is older than the one in the video. the back of my screen has different inputs. And here in Brazil it is very difficult to find this type of parts for this car. There are some others that use the same screen but the background colors are different

If the digitizer screen gets replaced, I believe your problem will go away.

What do you do if the ribbon cable that was notto be touched comes off? Can I secure it back and plug it into it`s slot?

Yes you can! If the touchscreen comes back online, you’ve found the problem. If the touchscreen does not work, then it’s time to replace it.

This video gave me the courage to do this. BUT! I have a DVD player. And the bottom of the screen and vent covering was screwed into the DVD player. I had to take out the DVD player to get the cover off. I have a 2013 300. I had to call the dealer to get my model radio to make sure I ordered the right one on Amazon. My old cover cracked all over as I tried to get it off. No glue mess. Installed the new one. Put everything back ok. BUT! still does not work and this time. I can control what has buttons but noting on the touch screen works. So the investigation begins. Thanks for the motivation.

Sounds good Ralph! Be sure that the ribbon cable is not loose but all the way in. There may be a little door or flap that holds the ribbon cable in place. I would try those first.

Mine works but the screen is forming a bubble of sorts under it. It makes it to where it acts as if I am touching it when im not and basically it fights with me whenever I do attempt to touch anything. I previously looked it up, and before I seen this video I found it was de-laminated. Would this fix the issue?

@@FixiT-Rick Appreciate it. One place was wanting $400 to fix it plus shipping. The dealer would replace the whole thing for $600. I did not want to pay either of those lol

Sounds like you want to replace the digitizer screen for a 2018 300s just like the C Model? They might be similar, I don't know for sure. But if it were me, I would try replacing the digitizer. Just make sure to verify through Amazon that the digitizer will fit the 2018 300s.

I broke my chord connected off the casing how does that impact it

Use the link in the description to go directly to that digitizer screen. From there, Amazon will ask you make and model car you drive and Amazon will confirm if that will fit your vehicle.

My actual screen is cracked , does the digitizer help with the screen or is that a seperate part that needs to be fixed?

I would remove the digitizer just to see the crack is on the screen. If you find the screen is damaged, the whole thing needs to be replaced.

What if your screen is black but the radio still plays. Would I still need a digitizer or just a need radio

If the screen is black, it might be a blown fuse or loose connection.

The link back to the digitizer screen will ask what type of car you have and they will say where or not it’s a match.
