Calm down Steve had surgery and so has been missing for sometime. Other than Steve, who obviously will be bias has he is through and through, I haven’t heard anybody else say arsenal doesn’t look good. Burley, Shaka, Ale, Jaan, Don, Jules have all been saying arsenal look very different and improved from last year . Sure some of them are still not convinced arsenal could win but they all said they certainly look top 4 material right now.

The reason why the ref gave it as a red is because Emerson Royal didn't get anywhere near the ball, it was a high enough challenge with studs, and Martinelli was retreating so it was also unnecessary.

@@fedfoofy Yes, perhaps the reason they lost wasn’t the fact that Royal made a lazy, unnecessary and dangerous foul, gave up and made 4 defensive substitutions or parked the bus the entire game? It was the referee who also awarded the only chance Tottenham had of scoring - a penalty. VAR and the ref also didn’t award a penalty to us for the same exact tackle that won Spurs a penalty not 30 minutes prior but, yes, the ref handed us the game 🤣🤡🙄

I'm really glad they gassed themselves because of Son's hatrick against bottom league Leicester. They really thought they could bring that attack into this NLD and smash us. We proved they have no plan B. Nullify son and kane and they become stuck and start diving about the place expecting the ref to gift them something. We at least showed we can shoot and score from out the box with Partey's opener, they are so used to us trying to score the perfect goal with ticka tacka passing. They also don't realize Conte's record against Arsenal is not very good.

On the red card. In todays interpretation, it can be given, you can argue thait it is a yellow only. In my oppinion, the interpretation should change so that it is always given a red card. It was a foul that was never an attempt to get the ball. Like a tactical foul, that's a yellow. But Emerson does not just trip Martinelli. He lifts his sole, to make sure he hurts him. And the intention to cause hurt makes it red.

The problem with the red card is that there are so many moments in the game that should have been a yellow that the ref just ignores. And then he gives a direct red, which was bad but it didn't look intentional or that he hit him that hard. It's so inconsistent with these refs. They love giving direct red cards but not yellows.

If that's not even a freekick then how can the other be a red. At best that's a yellow. It's like they're afraid of giving out yellow cards but love the red one. Maybe they think it makes them look like a tough decisive ref, but it's actually super frustrating to watch, and as a neutral spectator it kind of ruins the game for me.

Burly, should listen more instead of talking so much. Let’s compare the player wage bill of Arsenal to Tottenham, or what Arsenal spent on players for the last three years. Arteta coached there 3 years now while spending money to build his team still never reached top four, Conte’s been at Tottenham for 7 months brought them to top 4 first year and has consistently said it’s the beginning of building his team. He never said there’s not bad ref decisions in Italy, he was specifically referring to the refs in the Premier league and VAR decision not consistent, that in Italy they meet 3 days a week so they the refs and VAR will uniformity in decisions.
