I love the motif of the halberd stomps. Those are just regular dudes, well trained and battle hardened yes. But regular dudes nonetheless. They’re doing battle chants to intimidate an almost insurmountable enemy as their emperor marches through the ranks. That’s awesome.

Karl Franz is the leader we need. He does not cower behind his walls and guards and desk while he sends young me to die on his behalf. He is in the vanguard. That's the type of leader every nation needs.

As inspirational as leading from the front can be it does have the habit of getting officers whose entire job is to lead not fight, shot in the first five minutes of battle. It’s not the job of a General and his officers to fight, their job is coordinating one thousand and change individual men to fight in the art of organized warfare so they can avoid devolving into a mass brawl that will see them killed to the last man.

Don't mind me, just patrolling KZread looking for every Karl Franz video to sing his praises, summon the elector counts and make sure the fandom is at peace, for that is all Karl Franz wants.

It's pretty bad ass and brave of him to fight on foot in the front lines with his troops. He could have easily just been flying on his Gryphon at the start of the fight but I took this as a way to boost the morale of his men.

Freya Valentine The imperial engineers can't replicate the more complex parts of the tank boiler but rebuilding/changing the other parts is not a problem. In the rare case of a boiler exploding, they just put the pieces together as best as they can, the tank sometimes losing some effectiveness. You may be able to fix your car but making a brand new engine yourself is something else.

solwen if u rebuild your tanks and piece it together especially as severe cases as them blowing up u gather knowledge on how it works and then u should be able to build your own too

I love the various real world armor and weapon influences from actual history...and the awesome rethinking of some, too.

I love his entrance riding on the griffion. It is epic and heroic. I also like the way they have the sun at his back looking like an eye. Like the eye of Sigmar looks down.

The empire is one of my favourate factions in any setting, , A country of free men forged to bring the simple sanity of a normal life to a world of daemons, monsters and madmen. With the usage of science, faith and valor to defend their homes from the tyranny of false gods.

Still gives me chills watching this trailer. Still play as The Empire to this day on both Total War: Warhammer and Warhammer 2 too (Mortal Empires).

These comments make me sad. The people calling it a warcraft ripoff i can forgive. You just don't know the history behind warcraft and its roots in warhammer. Like Archaon were warrior priest of Sigmar until he got corrupted by chaos (like Arthas who became a Lich king) or Varian who's personality is very simmilar to Karl Franz and they both have a magic weapons Varian : Shalamayne Karl : Ghal Maraz.

Emperor Karl Franz sure had a good speech, but I feel that something is missing... Scout: "Emperor Franz - Enemy forces in our perimeter!"

I just love how the emperor is so badass that he don't even have to hold on to anything when riding the griffon xD. No really watch his hands closely he is NOT holding onto ANYTHING.

Your comment is 3 years old, so I guess this kind of counts as a necro. Anyways, Humans are THE interesting faction in the Warhammer universe. Every other faction except for the lizardmen, tomb kings and skaven are literally THE most popular way they are depicted. Dwarves? Angry mining people with technology. Elves? Arrogant people. Some of them live in the woods. Some are evil. Orcs? They do be Orcs tho not gonna lie. Humans? Usually the absolute good guys in fantasy settings, just sitting there being a victim taking everything, but in Warhammer bby. Absolute fanatic madlads, hating and killing everything that slightly annoys them, the super Chad of the Warhammer universe. Lizardmen tomb kings and skaven are all interesting concepts to and form my top 4 favourite factions together with empire, however they are never gonna beat my boy Franz. Edit: I forgot the vampires: Oh no! How could I forget the most original faction to ever exist! They do be doing vampire stuff.

AoS is still a huge upgrade over 40k. wh40k is just disgusting now, the only relevant factions are marines and chaos.

Karl Franz is much better than 40k's Emperor. He Lives, he Fights, and He will die for his empire.

The Empire was my favorite army in the tabletop game. A mix of the historical Holy Roman Empire during the Renaissance era, fantasy elements like wizards and griffins, and steampunk elements with mechanical horses and steam tanks! My army was that of Talabecland, because red and yellow are my two favorite colors.

Somehow in almost every Empire trailer the mages get killed

If I was born on this world maybe I wouldn’t worship chaos.

+DamnedUsernameThing Yes, but a blood option could cause a higher maturity rating and defeats the purpose. By making it separate, the DLC can have the higher rating instead. That being said, I think it is silly that people should be concerned about their kids seeing blood in a war game. Living things have bodily fluids. If you cut me, do I not bleed?

It's basically what TWWH is all about for the Empire.

This video gets me so hyped. Whatever the shitty obligation or chore that you face in life, with the words FOR THE EMPIRE and FOR KARL FRANZ in your heart, it'd give any man the strength and will to charge into action 10x over.

It's been 7 freaking years and-as of this comment- the hard work of those 7 years will be blended togheter into the Immortal Empires combined map. What a great achivement, Creative Assembly. Never thought it would get as far as it has and even further than that. But I am beyond happy that is has.

It's 2020, and still i am watching this EPIC Trailer. This is a Work of Art.

i think it kind of reflects the way that the factions are - Cathay was never really developed in tabletop so they had to go with a more mysterious, "awe-inspiring" kind of vibe because there wasn't much to go off of in the lore other than "they're pretty cool and have a big wall". meanwhile, this one is a lot more grounded because The Empire is the "main character", the star of the show. there's oodles of lore and they know exactly what they're going for when they do stuff for The Empire hence it feels a lot more solid
