    Average costs for a Total Knee Replacement vary widely, reported as anywhere from $15,000 to $70,000. How much an individual patient actually pays will come down to several factors including the type of knee replacement (partial, total, or revision), their Health Insurance Coverage, Deductible costs, costs for after care etc.

    My mom had this done to both knees, left then right. Right was okay but she said the left felt 'gritty' and the pain never really got better than before. When they did the 2nd surgery they did a 'looksee' into the left to see if there were any bone fragments (nothing to speak of) and said that her patella was too thin to try anything else. Post-surgery that knee got infected and 6 months dealing with that. Now she just hobbles around. 😣

    They prefer to do a total knee replacement after age 65 because the hardware lasts on average 20 years before having to be re-done. Odds are most won't live to see 85 and why they like to do a TKR at age 70, versus age 50.

    Can cubitus valgus be cured by doing exercises? If yes then which exercise and how to cure it

  • @healthdecide

    @healthdecide

    Жыл бұрын

    If cubitus valgus isn’t compressing your ulnar nerve, you probably won’t need treatment. Corrective stretching and strengthening of weak muscles and joint mobilization exercises are helpful to some extent with the help of elbow splint. (But it won't necessarily be "cured") In most cases, it is is treated by one of two procedures: osteotomy or fixation. Osteotomy is a process in which your doctor cuts the bone in order to reshape it, thereby changing its alignment. Fixation is the process by which your doctor will reconnect the bones of the elbow, usually following a fracture.

    It’s not iron thus it cannot rust. Metals corrode under extremely specific conditions as for iron it’s water thag does the trick. As for Titanium, it’s notoriously difficult to make it corrode. That’s why it’s being used kn medical implants The other component is a polymere which doesn’t corrode. The only problem is friction and implants due need to get replaced due to wear and tear or immune responses which can attack the materials

  • @healthdecide

    @healthdecide

    You keep many aspects of your native knee including the joint capsule tissue, quadriceps tendon, patellar tendon and patella, the medial and lateral collateral ligaments and often the posterior cruciate ligament. The remaining meniscus and the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) are removed, but the knee is stabilized by other functions of the implant.

    It's not like a little injection of Flex-Seal is going to be the fix.

    Had both of mine replaced at the same time April 1 2014. Best thing I ever did for myself except for divorcing my cheating ex.

    We can't comment on your individual case, and a doctor would need proper imaging to diagnose the exact issue and recommend the best treatment. If it is just displaced or dislocated, a doctor can help set the bones into place. If there is significant joint damage, then other treatments may be necessary. For some, surgery to clean up damaged tissue can help solve the problem, for others joint replacement (arthroplasty) may be recommended.
