Total Knee Replacement Exercises after 2 weeks

If you had total knee replacement or knee arthroplasty and it has been 2 weeks after, you need to continue with your therapy so you can regain that range of motion and strength. In this video, we will be doing your therapy in your kitchen. Being consistent with your therapy even at home will result to a rapid recovery and decrease the knee pain. Occupational therapists will not only teach you how to get dressed or do your ADLs, they will also teach you effective exercises that will make your self-care even safer.
The exercises included in this video are:
1. Sitting tip toes
2. Sitting toes up
3. Sitting marching in place
4. Toe touches with knee extension
5. Foot slides
6. Standing ankle rocking
7. Side kicks
8. Standing marching in place
9. Knee over toes
10. Sink pull ups

    Hello Nathan. Im so happy to see you on youtube. Your exercises 2 wks after surgery are so practical, especially the warm ups. I am.a 72 year old that hve undergone knee replacement 2 wks ago.     Thanks a lot Natham will keep at these exercises. Love plate slides you're clever 😅 good idea simple but effective idea. Loved rocking on toes to heal, side kicks, marching, rocking forward on knee at sink. Will add these to one's P/T gave from hosp. Feel exercising helps lot with all although leg swollen stiff sore only been home 4 days finding vucious cycle but best push through even if don't feel have best ROM yet. Think when leg less swollen will be easier as prevents bend. Can get to 90 occationally bu once swellling takes over & after moving around only 1/2 of that. Patience persevering only way. Found elevating leg as high as pissible best & putting on ice. Thanks for good advice will keep eye out for you ❤

    I had my knee surgery just a week ago. I can walk using my walker for 30 minutes a day. My leg and foot are still swollen and tight.' Trying to do the physio exercises at home as much as I can. Recommended physio is for 6 weeks. I'll also try some of your exercises. Thank you. Blessings to you.

    Twice a day. But stretch as many times as you can. Dont force the stretch please

    Hi , I had a full knee replacement 2 weeks tomorrow. Iv tried doing the exercises that they gave me but can only do 2 of them. I dnt seem to be able to lift my lower leg at all. I do have some lower swelling around the ankle and above it. Yesterday I went outside for the first time in the week Iv been home . I got down the 4 steps ok and with help got into truck . But had big issues getting back up the steps and leg swelled when sitting down . My biggest issues is my good leg doesnt seem to want to lift more then 1/2 inch off ground. Your video gives me more hope as I know I can do most of them. My husband tells me not to beat myself up about not been able to do the exercises as I may just need a bit more time . FYI Im an obese so I know Im asking alot of my good leg ( which also needs a full replacement as well)

    You can lift the good leg because of the pain and weakness of the affected leg. And yes, your husband is right. Rest is also important

    Hello Nathan I stumbled upon your video I'm going to try these I'm two weeks PO I still can't lift my quad muscle up on my own I have to use a rope and it's frustrating me a lot of people say it takes between 2 and 6 weeks to be able to lift your leg up on your own, do you know anything about this? It frustrates me real bad 😕 my room was 77 last week and this week when she measured it it was 64 it's going backwards and I'm starting to get worried please answer me thank you I subscribe to videos I'm going to really try your exercises today ❤️

    Try doing knee to chest on your bed. Lying on your back.

    I'm getting my left knee total replacement in October. Please post exercises for Pre-Surgery too. My right knee has severe osteoarthritis too. Would like to strengthen it to delay its surgery. SALAMAT!!!

    I am sorry to hear that. Did you have knee replacement? If you did recently, be patient but you will be surprised that it will be as strong or even stronger than your original knee. Just be consistent with your therapy

    @@SKILLSANDWELLNESS for I done physiotherapy by visiting physiotherapist every day in home.I used walker for walking. Doctor yetnotdagnosised whether it's movement disorder, parkingson, spine. 3 years passed. I done medication. Now I am again visiting Neurologist. I seen your exercises which is good and we helpful and give confidence to me.I have tremor in right leg. I became frightened in walking. Sometimes.

    I am sorry that is happening. Please practice standing first. Close to the bed or couch. Do the last exercise i poted for balance. I hope it helps
